Gary Fisher - Managing Director

Gary has been engaged by Copper Ashton Developments to provide the quantity surveying and project management services for its conversion project in West Town Road, Backwell. Gary is an experienced Managing Director with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry. He owns his own consultancy, Mode Consult, which he formed in 2019 and is a highly skilled individual who can act as a Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor. He has over 25 years in the industry, with previous roles including a position as Regional Director for the cost consultancy arm of Mace. He is skilled in Project Management, Driving Value, Real life active Cost Management, Procurement, Feasibility Studies, and Cost Engineering. He has strong business development skills and has a BSc which focused on Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying from Loughborough University.

Lee Lukins

Lee has been engaged by Copper Ashton Developments Limited to provide architectural and design services for its conversion project in West Town Road, Backwell. Lee is the founder of Lukins Technical and Design Limited, which was established in 2011. He has over 20 years experience in the technical and delivery side of the construction industry, and previous roles included five years at Barton Willmore & Cadsquare South-West. He has completed many planning & building regulation applications of various scales, in many sectors, for both private individuals and developers.

Rachael De'ath

Job Titles:
  • Structural Engineer
Rachael has been engaged by Copper Ashton Developments to provide the structural engineering services for its conversion project in West Town Road, Backwell. Rachael is an experienced structural engineer and an Associate at structural and civil engineers, Marbas. Rachael was appointed by Marbas in 2022 to help set up the firm's new office in Bristol. She has over 20 years' experience in the industry and in as previous role was a senior structural engineer with Arup. She uses both her design and site experience to provide efficient and pragmatic solutions for clients and has strong skills in building refurbishment in a wide range of sectors. She is experienced in leading the design of large multi-disciplinary projects. In her role as Visiting Lecturer at the University of Bristol, she uses her industrial experience to bring context to the students. She has also co-authored a book ‘Concept Design of Buildings', published by the IStructE and is a Co-chair of the Committee and Public Relations Officer for the Western Counties branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers.

Rob Vaughan - Managing Director

Rob is the driving force behind Copper Ashton Developments and its commitment to repurpose buildings in the Bristol and South West region. Belief in the importance of family and quality of life are the foundations of his enthusiasm. His aim is to create well designed living spaces, suitable for a modern world from old and under-utilised buildings. He has owned a number of properties over the years, including a holiday rental home in Florida. An unreliable and ultimately disappearing property management agent, resulted in a crash course in property management at a distance of 4,000 miles! The experience provided him with invaluable skills, and ultimately he was able to assemble a team to help overcome the problem.

Suzy Perry

Since the start of the millennium, Suzy has owned a number of rental properties in the UK. The property investment company, Copper Ashton Properties, was her brainchild. It established the potential of multi-unit freehold blocks as a viable property investment strategy. She is an integral part of strategic decision-making at Copper Ashton Developments. She has always bought the properties she has lived in with an eye on their potential and consequently has been able to add value through making improvements. Sharing Rob's family values and commitment to a happy and healthy work-life balance, Suzy is well-known in the Bristol business community. Like Rob, she graduated with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Surrey and went on to work in education and IT for over 35 years. She now runs it'seeze websites - a small and friendly Bristol based company who create websites for businesses across the South West. She uses her skills as a business owner and educator to act as a mentor and coach for others, helping them to define their objectives and organise their busy day-to-day challenges to achieve business success.
