He started his career in the marine industry in 1991; 16 years of sea service following which he stepped ashore to become a surveyor in 2006 and continues to be an active surveyor in the field as well as a consultant on all things maritime. For the offshore sector he has acted as a company rep., marine warranty surveyor in rig-moving, offshore installation construction, deep water pipe laying and other high risk offshore activities and associated surveys including suitability, condition, towage, break bulk and heavy lift cargoes, vessel condition surveys and pre-purchase surveys of a number of bulk vessels and product tankers. He has the experience and a sound working knowledge of offshore vessels, bulk carriers, oil tankers and containers vessels. He has been a part of a team in a number of offshore installations which included underwater survey work with divers and ROV's, jack up installation barges and rigs and offshore installations from initial risk assessments, operational method..
