CHINESE FOLK DANCE

Founded in 1959, the Chinese Folk Dance Association is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit community group based in San Francisco. We are dedicated to promoting the understanding of Chinese culture through dance. Our students come from the local San Francisco and Chinatown communities and through dance are able to strengthen their cultural identity while learning to respect diversity among different ethnic groups... The Chinese Folk Dance Association is a community organization established in 1959 dedicated to the education and expression of Chinese culture and Chinese dance... We strive to provide an environment where the community's local youth have an opportunity to come learn dance in a safe and supportive environment. Attendance of our weekly classes not only teaches students discipline, but also shows them the rewards of the work they put into themselves.
