ELK GROVE BLACK LIBERATION COLLECTIVE

Our mission is to provide support, resources, and empowerment to the Black community in Elk Grove, CA... We are a grassroots organization working to end racial injustice in Elk Grove by advocating for funds to be reallocated away from the Elk Grove Police Department into community organizations that provide social services for the community. We have a vision of Elk Grove that puts community safety and compassion first through a new Emergency Services Department, replacing EGPD, which holds qualified social workers, mental health professionals, rehabilitation specialists, and housing specialists to respond to all nonviolent and victimless crimes, while a smaller unit of safety officials will handle violent crimes. By reallocating this funding and building a new type of community-oriented safety, we can also support community organizations that provide social services including employment workshops and job fairs.
