Game Habitat was founded in 2013 by representatives from the region's games industry to accelerate the growth of the regional game development industry. The organization's mission remains the same today. Game Habitat is a member organization, with regional game development companies as members. Game Habitat's current members represent 95% of the game developers in the region. The organization operates in Sweden's two southernmost regions, Skåne and Blekinge.
