Every year, we want to honor and acknowledge symposium organizers and previous presenters who have passed away. In May 2021, we lost Nathalie Clarke, a beloved Tulane student who died in a tragic accident. Nath aided in the planning of the first symposium and participated in it, simultaneously translating from French into English. Nath also presented their research in the 3rd annual symposium alongside their collaborator, Pete LeBoeuf (Pointe-au-Chien Indian Tribe). They are sorely missed by their family, friends, faculty mentors and the NOCGS team... As the Director of Development and Programing for the Tunica-Biloxi Language & Culture Revitalization Program (LCRP), John Barbry will discuss the role of the Tunica-Biloxi Museum and the LCRP in communicating the historical relevance of the Tribe in state and regional history.
