Dr Amber Callard

Amber is based in the beautiful Tauranga Moana and, as a member of the NZEDC team, currently offers assessment and intervention for rangatahi, including young adults, on Thursday and Fridays. Amber is a Clinical Psychologist/Kaimatai Hinengaro and a member of Australia and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. Amber's passion for working with individuals experiencing symptoms of an eating disorder began early in her academic studies and has continued throughout her psychological career. Amber has many years' experience engaging with rangatahi/youth and their whanau alongside their experience of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. In addition, Amber was the Eating Disorder Liaison Clinician for Children and Adolescents for the Bay of Plenty region between 2016 and 2021.

Dr Mindy Hung

Mindy is a registered clinical psychologist who is passionate about working with children, adolescents, families and adults. Mindy has worked within the District Health Board (DHB) mental health services and private health settings since 2016. Mindy's area of interest in body image anxiety and eating disorders began early in her career and she worked as an Eating Disorder Liaison clinician at CAMHS ADHB. Mindy's work is based on the belief that people want to live their lives to the fullest and in line with their own values. Mindy understands that many individuals and parents may have something similar in mind for themselves or their children; however, it is not always easy for them to grow up through many inevitable life challenges, let alone mental health difficulties. It is Mindy's passion to support those who are struggling and help them work towards reengaging with a meaningful life. Mindy provides assessments for people presenting with characteristics of eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Avoidant / Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). She offers evidence-based treatments including Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) for eating disorders. In addition to eating disorders, Mindy has experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Mindy has trainings and experience using other treatment approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT). Mindy speaks fluent English and Mandarin. She studied a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Psychology and Statistics at the University of Auckland and completed a Master's degree in Psychology and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Massey University. Dr Rachael Mayne

Rachael is a registered clinical psychologist with more than a decade of clinical experience. Rachael has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, across a variety of public and private health settings in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Rachael has a particular interest in the relationship between physical health and emotional wellbeing and how these two areas interact. She studied a Bachelor of Science majoring in human anatomy and psychology at the University of Otago, then moved to Auckland to complete her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of Auckland. Rachael's first specialist experience working with eating disorders was in 2016, at the Royal Free London CAMHS eating disorder service. Upon returning to New Zealand, she worked at the Kari Centre CAMHS as an Eating Disorder Liaison. As a therapist, Rachael provides a warm, relaxed, and genuine approach. Rachael uses a range of evidence-based treatment approaches and is committed to ‘what works' in psychology. Rachael has training and experience using Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT). Rachael receives regular expert supervision and is committed to ongoing professional development to ensure she is providing the most up-to-date and effective evidence based treatments. Rachael has always had an interest in working with adolescents and young adults, and this continues to be her area of passion. As a member of the NZEDC team, Rachael offers assessment and intervention to adolescents and adults experiencing difficulties with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder and body image concerns. Alongside the focus on eating issues, Rachael also has experience in working with a range of other areas including: anxiety, panic, depression, mood regulation, perfectionism, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, and psychosomatic symptoms.

Ruby Jelicich

Ruby is NZEDC's clinic administrator. She will likely be the first person you talk to when you reach out, and you will often see her sitting at the desk in the waiting room of our Auckland clinic. Outside of her work at NZEDC, Ruby is a fifth-year psychology student at the University of Auckland. She completed her undergraduate degree majoring in Psychology and Gender Studies and finished her first year of postgraduate study with first-division honours in Psychology. She is currently undertaking her second year of postgraduate study, completing her master's thesis. Ruby hopes to continue her study after this to become a registered psychologist. Through her own lived experience and academic background, Ruby has a unique understanding of eating disorders and their impacts. She is driven to one day provide others with the valuable support she received when she was younger. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA), a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and a Masters of Clinical Social Work (MSW) at the University of Windsor in Canada. Stephanie is currently registered with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB), the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and is a member of the Australia New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED).
