Chelsey Sturgill

Dr. Sturgill is a 2018 graduate of North Carolina State University with an interest in small animal medicine. She is a local to the high country, born and raised in West Jefferson, NC. Dr. Sturgill has a special interest in feline medicine and all things related to Golden Retrievers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Andrew, and two dogs.

Lynda Russell

Dr. Russell joined our team in October 2020. Prior to becoming a Veterinarian, she received her Master's in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University and worked as a Biologist in the Greater Everglades as part of an environmental restoration project. She graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 with a focus in Zoologic Medicine, followed by a rotating small animal internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta. Dr. Russell enjoys seeing dog and cat patients as well as a wide variety of exotic animals, including reptiles, small mammals, chickens, ferrets, and even fish! She has 3 well-loved cats at home: Dante, Beatrice, and Uncle Petunio plus two freshwater aquariums. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Russell likes practicing yoga, and spending time learning to kayak with her husband, Zach.

Victoria Watson

Education: Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Watson was excited to join the AECHC team as an emergency veterinarian. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine where she developed a passion for small animal emergency medicine. She is originally from the high country and is thrilled to give back to her community and to finally be back home. She attended Less-McRae College for her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Phycology, during her time there she played colligate softball. In her free time, she enjoys playing a variety of sports along with hiking and being outside with her dogs.

Wendy Wolverton

Dr. Wolverton grew up in Memphis, TN but was born and bred in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and has been practicing emergency medicine and general practice in Memphis since then. She has a special interest in surgery, dentistry, and emergency medicine. Her husband, Robert, is an artist, and their son, Chase, is a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has a "bonus" son, Hunter, who lives in Memphis. In her free time, Dr. Wolverton enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time outside with her family. Her menagerie includes 2 cats, Norman and Presley, a dachshund, Ruby, and a terrier mix, Angel. Dr. Wolverton is so happy to finally be "home"!
