ABHISEK KUMAR

  • Vice President of Finance
Abhisek oversees all treasury, controller and financial planning and analysis functions of Rise's business. He brings over 15 years of investment banking, utility, finance, and managerial experience. Previously, Abhisek was a Director at RBC Capital Markets' Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Group and he worked for several large financial institutions and energy companies, including Barclays Capital, WestLB, and GenOn Energy (Mirant Corp). He also has expertise in deal originations and has led numerous executions across leveraged acquisitions and buyouts, recapitalizations, M&A, and project finance in the power and utility sector. Abhisek earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from New York University and an MBA from Yale School of Management.

Cameron Willard

Job Titles:
  • Director, Commercial Management
Cameron was on the project finance team at NextEra Energy, where he helped close tax equity and project debt transactions totaling $2.7 billion for 3.1 GW of renewable energy projects across the US. Before that, he was on the investment team at the New York Green Bank, making climate-focused credit investments in New York State. Before business school, Cameron worked in oil & gas investment banking in Houston. Cameron earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Oxford in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and the University of Bristol in English Literature. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Clint Plummer - CEO

Job Titles:

During his 15 years in the clean energy industry, Clint Plummer achieved notable offshore wind power "firsts," including significant accomplishments in New Jersey. As Rise's CEO, Clint oversees existing generation facility operations and leads development of new projects and strategic partnerships. He previously was Head of Market Strategies and New Projects for Ørsted US Offshore Wind, where he secured customer agreements for more than 2 GW of new offshore wind projects in New Jersey and New York. Before joining Ørsted, Clint was Vice President of Development for Deepwater Wind, where he grew the company's US market for offshore wind energy and positioned it as a respected, responsible market leader.

Elizabeth Griffin

Job Titles:
  • Director of Development
Elizabeth manages development of the company's battery energy storage portfolio and has over a decade of experience in New York's energy industry. Before joining Rise, she was a founding member of Con Edison Transmission, where she led development of electric transmission projects designed to connect remote renewable generation to customers. Elizabeth formerly worked for Con Edison's regulated utility, which she represented in New York's early offshore wind efforts and led the analysis for the company's program to reduce heating oil consumption across the city. Before joining Con Edison, Elizabeth worked in Operations Performance at National Grid, developing and implementing post-merger process improvements across the organization. She earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Georgetown University, and Master's from the University of Michigan's School of Environment and Sustainability, and an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.

Jamil Khan

Khan was Mid-Atlantic Project Development Director at Ørsted, where he led a multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing projects from concept through offtake agreements, including the company's 1100 MW Ocean Wind and 880 MW Sunrise Wind projects. At Rise, he manages development of the company's new projects and strategic partnerships. In over a decade of high-level experience in New York's renewable energy industry, Jamil also was a Development Manager at Deepwater Wind, where he advocated for market expansion of offshore wind energy demand in New York and New Jersey, led expansion of the South Fork Wind Farm, and spearheaded development of the Garden State Offshore Energy project. Before joining the offshore wind energy industry, Jamil was Associate Manager of Policy and Business Development at Tesla and Director of Policy in New York at SolarCity, tasked with supporting energy storage and solar PV project development and policy activities in New York. He also served as Program Manager at the City of New York Mayor's Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability under Mayor Mike Bloomberg. Jamil has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and an MSE in Environmental Management and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.

Jim D'Andrea - Chief Legal Officer

Jim oversees legal, market, and compliance matters for all company activities. He has worked in New York's utility industry since 1987, when he began as an engineer and project manager for various power, natural gas, and general capital project improvements for regulated utility companies on Long Island and in Brooklyn. After graduating from law school in 1995, he helped spearhead industry development projects, with a focus on integrating them into the Northeast region's ever-changing competitive markets. Before joining Rise, Jim was Director and Senior Regulatory Counsel for TransCanada Corporation, responsible for managing the legal and compliance activities of its northeast power and energy businesses. Jim earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and a Juris Doctor from St. John's University.

Ken Galarneau

Job Titles:
  • Director of Commercial Management
Jim brings over 10 years of analytics experience in New York's energy markets. Most recently, he consulted for NYISO market participants as principal of KRG Energy Solutions, providing market and regulatory analysis. Previously, he was Senior Manager, Market Design for Key Capture Energy, where he helped the company navigate participation rules for their energy storage resource, KCE_NY_1, and led a wide range of development analysis activities. Ken also served as Senior Manager, Government & Regulatory Affairs at Direct Energy, focusing on the NYISO market and working to help the forward trading and wholesale operations desks understand market rule changes affecting participation and future prices. Before joining as a market participant, Ken worked for NYISO in various market monitoring roles, including as Supervisor, Mitigation Performance & Analysis, where he helped implement energy market mitigation measures and screen them for non-competitive behavior. Ken has a Master's degree in Financial Engineering & Risk Analytics, and a Bachelor's degree in Management - both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Michael Stockstad

Michael Stockstad serves as Vice President, Asset Management at Rise Light & Power. He is responsible for developing and implementing the Company's asset management strategy, including overseeing the operations of Ravenswood Generating Station.

Natalia Kowal

Job Titles:
  • Office Administrator
Natalia is the Office Administrator at Rise Light & Power. She facilitates fluid and timely communication and is a conduit between the team and existing as well as future partners. Natalia brings over twenty years of personnel management and event planning experience. Her most recent work was with an established New York City property management firm holding robust portfolio of commercial as well as residential buildings. There she supported C-suite level executives and managed an office with over fifty professionals in finance, compliance, transfer and property management. Natalia has helped organize philanthropic fundraisers (Children's Happy Faces Foundation benefitting Ronald McDonald House of New York), team building experiences and ensured visibility and outreach at industry expositions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Baruch College, Zickin School of Business.

Peter Toomey

Job Titles:
  • VP, Commercial Management
Peter manages commodity exposure at the Ravenswood Generating Station and leads off-take strategy and execution for the company's development projects. He was VP of Commercial Strategy for Brookfield Renewables, where he managed the company's Terraform Power portfolio. Peter and his team were responsible for managing a number of commercial functions for this 2,700 MW portfolio of wind and solar projects, including power marketing, congestion management, and asset scheduling. At Brookfield, Peter successfully originated and negotiated long-term power and REC transactions to support financing of two of the first wind repowerings in New York State. Peter has spent his entire 15-year career in the renewable energy sector, with experience ranging from small rooftop solar in Massachusetts to large utility-scale wind in Texas. Before joining Terraform, Peter held a variety of commercial positions at SunPower Corporation, Evolution Markets, and Avangrid Renewables.

Roberta Zwier

Roberta Zwier, PMP serves as the Vice President, Environmental Management at Rise Light & Power, where she is responsible for managing environmental permitting and compliance matters for development projects and existing assets. Ms. Zwier brings over fifteen years of experience permitting large-scale energy projects, including eight years as an in-house Environmental Project Manager with the Williams Companies, an integrated natural gas company, where she was responsible for permitting greenfield pipeline projects in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, including the last submarine natural gas transmission project to deliver natural gas into New York City. Roberta earned an MS in Environmental Biology from California University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Environmental Biology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.

Scott Weiner

  • Senior Advisor, Policy and Strategy
Scott's experience spans the fields of business strategy and public policy in such areas as climate change, commercializing renewable and clean energy technologies, and emerging business models for utilities. His career in New Jersey state government includes being Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection and Energy, President of the Board of Public Utilities, and Chief Counsel to Gov. Jim Florio. He held senior executive positions in several energy-related private and public corporations, including Senior VP for Market Structure and Regulatory Affairs at Sithe Energies, Inc. where he led the company's participation in opening of three eastern wholesale electric markets; President of Ballard Generation Systems and member of the senior management team of its publicly-traded parent, Ballard Power Systems, responsible for leading development of PEM hydrogen fuel cell technology in utility and portable power applications; and Senior VP and General Counsel of Petra Solar, Inc., which developed a highly-distributed 40 MW solar generation facility composed of single PV panels mounted to utility poles. In his most recent full-time public sector assignment, Scott was Deputy to the Chair of New York State's Public Service Commission for Markets & Innovation. He led staff work supporting the state's Reforming the Energy Vision initiative, which laid the foundation for a 21 st century power grid. Scott also served in municipal government, on the Fort Lee, NJ Borough Council and as Council President.

Sid Nathan

At Rise, Sid oversees government and stakeholder relations, brand marketing, media relations, and policy advocacy. He previously served as Communications Director of the Long Island Power Authority, the second-largest public power utility in the US. There, Sid fostered strategic partnerships and led initiatives to promote over 1,000 megawatts of new clean and distributed energy since 2014 - including utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and New York State's first offshore wind farm. Previously, Sid was Communications Director for county and local governments in New York State. He has a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Political Science from Hofstra University and a Master's in Strategic Communications from Columbia University.

Wil Fisher

Wil Fisher is Manager of External Affairs at Rise Light & Power, where he fosters strong and lasting relationships with community stakeholders. He has dedicated his career to building a stronger and more resilient New York City, working with communities and coalitions to advance important projects related to climate-change adaptation. Before joining Rise Light & Power, Wil worked in New York City government, serving as Assistant Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), where he negotiated public approvals for $1 billion in real estate, community development, and capital construction projects. Notably, he directed public engagement efforts for Lower Manhattan Coastal Resiliency, a suite of capital projects and master plans that will protect New Yorkers from the impacts of climate change. Wil previously worked on Hurricane Sandy reconstruction at the Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery, managing special projects such as reconstruction of attached homes and workforce development. Wil holds an undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University in Political Science and Latin American Studies, and is an alum of New York City's Urban Fellows program.
