We were founded in 2007 by our coordinator Connie Braxton and her husband Will Braxton. They have two children and have been serving moms and babies for several years! Connie and Will became interested in this program because of the high infant mortality in the state of Michigan. Connie is a CCT (certified car set technician), a CLS (certified lactician specialist), and has a BSA in management and accounting and has work in the public health care field for the past 38 years. Connie is very involved in the community and sits on many board committes including: Great Start Foundation, a non-profit organization; Great Start LLG, S.E.M. MIHP Collabortive, and Michigan Home Visiting committee... We have a certified lactation specialist to help mothers who are breastfeeding or who want to start breastfeeding. Lactation visits are done by appointment only... We are a home visitation program that serves pregnant moms and newborn babies living in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw County...
