Austin joined the TLE Team in October 2018
Austin Doughty started at Top Level in October of 2018 with project scopes that range from structural repairs to brand new commercial buildings. He has versatility in design materials with an understanding of concrete, masonry, wood, steel, and composite systems that allows him to adapt to each project's specific needs while staying cost-efficient. He is also responsible for the continuing education seminars, which focus on pre-engineering products and fastening systems that are often specified on TLE projects.
Prior to starting at TLE, Austin was an active member of the Marshall community. He was Corresponding Secretary and Brotherhood chair for Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity as well as an Alumni member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Society of Military Engineers (SAME). He was involved in the concrete canoe team and steel bridge competitions that qualified for the Regional Conference. Austin also participated in intramural and club sports. He currently plays weekly with the Loudon Soccer organization.
Kirby Hartle founded Top Level Engineering, LLC in 2016, with the goal of providing a creative approach to structural design.
Kirby Hartle founded Top Level Engineering, LLC in 2016, with the goal of providing a creative approach to structural design. Kirby brings a unique skill set to his design philosophy as he has been fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects from small specialized projects to new structures and building renovations. Each of these projects present unique challenges that require working knowledge of structural systems, materials and components that have evolved over time. Kirby is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers Association and has completed course work in Progressive Collapse and Blast Training Design.
Prior to founding TLE, Kirby served as a Structures Specialist on the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Team. In 2010, his team was deployed to Haiti to aid in the search and rescue of the earthquake's many victims.
Kirby enjoys weekend time with his wife and two daughters, who like to keep him busy camping, fishing and occasionally allowing him to sneak in a round of golf. A Pittsburgh native, hockey and football seasons are always fun in the Washington, D.C. area.
