Woodhouse is essentially a quiet, pretty rural village. It is relatively small with no shops, pubs or restaurants but is close to Beaumanor Hall and next to its larger neighbour, Woodhouse Eaves. Together Woodhouse and Woodhouse Eaves form the Parish of Woodhouse... Woodhouse Eaves lies beneath Beacon Hill and under the eaves of Charnwood Forest, hence its name. It is the larger of the two villages in the parish of Woodhouse, with shops and public houses which serve both villages... The Local History Group has been in existence for many years and is active in supporting, disseminating and archiving research related to all aspects of the history of the parish of Woodhouse and its surrounds.
