Bryan Callahan is a 1980 graduate of Liberty High School. Bryan is a veteran educator in the Bethlehem Area School District where he started teaching driver education in 1996. Bryan has also served as the Athletic Director, Vice President of the Bethlehem Education Association and as the Department Chair for Health and Physical Education.

John B. Callahan served as Mayor of Bethlehem for 10 years. Callahan led the dynamic transformation of the 1,800-acre former Bethlehem Steel Corp. site - the largest brownfield in the country - into a business, cultural and retail destination anchored by Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and the SteelStacks entertainment campus. He ushered in more than $2.2 billion in economic development which led to the creation and retention of more than 6,500 jobs in Bethlehem. In his final year as mayor, an additional $1.8 billion of economic development was ongoing in the city which would result in as many as 5,500 new jobs. Callahan was honored by Gov. Ed Rendell with the 2009 Governor's Award for Local Government Excellence, not only for his outstanding leadership as mayor but also for his efforts on behalf of cities and municipalities throughout the Commonwealth as the longest-serving President of Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities {PLCM}. He has previously served on the boards of Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation and Arts Quest. He currently serves as a Trustee on The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District, is the Vice President of 10,000 Friends of PA, Co-Chair of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and a member of Bethlehem Rotary. John is currently the Director of Business Development for Peron Development and continues to be very involved in bringing new investment and jobs to local communities. In just 7 years he has led the development of over $155 million in mixed-use projects. This includes Social Still, 510 Flats, The Armory in Bethlehem, The Seville in Easton, and Pearl Pointe in Burlington, NJ. Callahan graduated cum laud with a degree in Biology from Moravian College. He and his wife of 29 years, Mafalda, reside in northeast Bethlehem where they raised their three children.
