The National Association of Parliamentarians® (NAP) was organized in 1930. It is recognized as the oldest and largest professional non-profit association of parliamentarians in the world. NAP works with organizations and individuals to educate them on fair and effective meeting procedures. The District of Columbia Association of Parliamentarians (DCAP), chartered in 1969 is a division of the National Assocation of Parliamentarians. The purpose of DCAP is to promote the philosophy and principles underlying the rules of deliberative assemblies through the study, teaching, and dissemination of parliamentary law and procedure through use of Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised and other parliamentary authorities.
