In The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, he attributes the social success of Connectors to the fact that "their ability to span many different worlds is a function of something intrinsic to their personality, some combination of curiosity, self-confidence, sociability, and energy". (Gladwell 2000)...
Connectors are the people who foster innovation by bringing together a wide range of individuals working across functional lines to create a culture of collaboration. They accomplish this by articulating, facilitating, and executing visions that inspire others. They often achieve results by staying below the radar, confidentially working behind the scenes. They know how to get things done on tight deadlines to inspire creativity. Connectors are not interested in getting credit for results.
