Gustavo Ballesteros is a sophomore at Northwestern University, majoring in Civil Engineering and pursuing a Master of Science in Project Management. He has worked on the policy, design, engineering, and advocacy aspects of sustainable and resilient infrastructure. As a designer for the Design Apprenticeship Program at the National Building Museum, he collaborated with industry professionals and community leaders in southeast DC to transform recreational spaces into lively, modern community hubs. As an intern at Clean Water Action, Gustavo researched and advocated for numerous environmental causes around Maryland, including analyzing Baltimore City sewage backups affecting more than 50,000 residents and testifying for the restriction of unrecyclable plastics and plastic straws in Montgomery County...
