St. Ignatius' High School, Gumla, was established in 1934 and is managed by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus popularly known as Jesuits. It is named after St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. It is a religious minority school aided by government. It is affiliated to Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi. This is a registered Society, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on 27 June 1958 at Patna bearing the No. 12 of 1958-59. The registration was renewed after the formation of new State Jharkhand and a fresh registration No 178/2005-06 Ranchi was allotted. Through the Memo No. 1206 dated 21/02/1936 this school was accorded with Recognition by the Govt. of Bihar, and again through the Memo No 5642-46 dated 25/02/1970 the school was declared as Minority educational institution...
