LEWIS GENERAL TIRES - Key Persons
Leon Lewis Sr. founded Lewis General Tires in 1919 when he established a General Tire franchise at 260 East Avenue. To survive the Great Depression, Leon took on two partners, one of them being his competitor across the street. Post World War II, Leon bought out his partners, intending to pass his company to one or more of his sons: Leon Jr., Alan, and Richard Sr.
