I have been developing software solutions for almost two decades now. I started arround 11 years old when I created my first program on my Commodore VIC20 using the BASIC language. Later on I started programming in C++. C# was the next logical step for me, and still using it after all this years...
I personaly believe that you should write code as an author writes a book: self explainable, and readable. To accomplish this, I make use of design patterns, best practises and SOLID principles. Domain Driven Design (DDD) is one of the things that I truely believe in. Based on my experience in the field, that this really works. Domain-Driven Design is an approach to software development that centers the development on programming a domain model that has a rich understanding of the processes and rules of a domain.
