PHEMIOLOGY
Updated 12 days ago
Founded by Tommaso Palumbo in June 1991, Phemiology is the study of human nature and communication to prevent and overcome psychological problems. Phemiology is here to help people enjoy a better quality of life. "Phe" is pronounced as in "Fellow", and the term Phemiology comes from the Greek words "Phemis" (thing said) and "Logos" (the study of something, the rationale behind the essence of man). Phemiology adopts the Six Elements Approach, which differs substantially from mainstream psychological approaches when it comes to: 1. The value of prevention We believe that basic emotional & rational skills should be taught at school to all students in the 16-18 age range. Beyond the obvious benefits in terms of wellbeing, such targeted investment in prevention would save goverments and private companies billions in healthcare funds and lost productivity due to absence from work and poor performance. 2. The uniqueness of each person We believe that psychological issues should be addressed..
