QAISC - Key Persons
After 15 years of professional dedication to the Swiss system control company Rittmeyer AG, Andres founded in 2002 together with Peter Horstmann and Carlos Gonzalez the group of companies QUALITAS Remos SL with activity in providing innovative solutions that integrate technology, data and software to the global market through its subsidiary companies QUALITAS Instruments SA in Madrid, QUALITAS Instruments Lda in Lisbon and QUALITAS Environmental Solutions Sarl in Casablanca.
Inspired by the vision that AI WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN A SMART WORLD, in 2020 the new company QUALITAS Artificial Intelligence and Science S.A. - QAISC - is started in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias. Among the outstanding strengths of QAISC, a highly talented team that works with passion integrated into a vibrant public-private R&D ecosystem.
Andres has a MSc in Civil Engineering by the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a Master in Business and Economy by the IESE of the University of Navarra and has collaborated as Associate Professor with the Escuela de Organización Industrial EOI.
Daniel Martínez Muñoz is MsC in Computer Science at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. During the last year he has been working specially on streaming protocols and information systems.
He is passionate about new technologies and web applications. Currently, he is working as junior full-stack developer.
Francisco Javier is a fourth-year computer engineering student passionately foccused on web development. His desire is to become a highly skilled full-stack developer and has experience with various technologies, such as React, Angular, Django, and Firebase.
Currently, Francisco Javier is developing a final degree project in our company, which is a PTZ camera control application, within the Smart Coast AI Lab framework in collaboration with the CTIM group of the ULPGC. In his free time, Francisco Javier enjoys surfing, traveling, and fishing. These hobbies allow him to disconnect from technology and appreciate the beauty of nature.
Telecommunications Engineering degree from the ULPGC. He has developed almost his entire professional career as a software engineer dedicated to the development of projects related to communications in airport and aeronautical environments.
He is currently working as project manager and development team leader at Qualitas Remos integrating AGILE methodologies in all phases of project development.
Jesús Artiles Cidoncha received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. During 2021, he has carried out his Final Degree Project through a university scholarship with CTIM in which he has obtained important knowledge related to the integration of maps in web applications and skills that will be helpfull during his professional carrer. He is focused in full stack software development and is currently working as junior developer in our company.
Jonay Suárez Ramírez is a Computer Science graduate from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and currently is a post-graduate student in the M.S. degree in Intelligent Systems and Numerical Applications in Engineering from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
During the last year, he has participated as an undergraduate student in several R&D projects within the academic research groups and private companies that has helped him to develop skills needed for R&D projects. Currently, he is participating as junior researcher researcher with our partner CTIM in the Project "SMART COAST AI SOLUTIONS 4.0" led by QAISC.
Jonay is an enthusiast of new technologies and his main interest topics are Artificial Intelligence, specially Deep Learning, and Computer Vision.

Leopoldo López Reverón is B.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
During the last year, he has participated in several R&D projects as an undergraduate student with the CTIM lab group and our company that helped him to develop skills needed for Artificial Intelligence research works.
Currently, he is a post-graduate student in the M.S. degree in Intelligent Systems and Numerical Applications in Engineering from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and he is working as junior researcher with our partner CTIM in the Project "SMART COAST AI SOLUTIONS 4.0" led by our company.
Leopoldo is an enthusiast of new technologies and his main interest research topics are Artificial Intelligence, specially Deep Learning in Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics by the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain); MSc. in Applied Physical Oceanography by Bangor University (UK).
Inmaculada is a senior data scientist with more than 15 years experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary and international teams on different Spanish, European and International R&D projects which all share the common target of translating data into useful information for supporting decision making in different fields of activities (e.g. Harbour operations, Safe navigation, Oil&Gas, Renewable energy...
Before joining QUALITAS, Inmaculada worked as a scientist for two different public institutions in Spain: the Spanish National Port Authority (Puertos del Estado) and the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA).

Nelson Monzón received the M.S. degree in Computer Science, M.Ed. degree in Media and Technology, the M.S. degree in Intelligent Systems and Numerical Applications in Engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Currently, he is Associate Professor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Chief of Research and Development Officer (CRDO) in the company QUALITAS Artificial Intelligence & Science S.A.U.
Nelson has more than ten years of experience in international R&D projects in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, working with researchers of the CTIM lab at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the CMLA group at the École Normale Supérieure of París-Saclay,
His main research contributions are related to the optical flow estimation, stereoscopic vision and video denoising. He is also expert in software development and Agile project management, topic in which he is official trainer of the Scrum Manager organization.
