This informal lab was founded in 2018 by Sairam A. Kumar, a then PGY3 Pediatric Resident who thought to mentor his junior residents on their research, quality improvement, and educational projects well after he left the resident program. This is a lab by trainees for trainees. All of the lab projects were born out of a burning curiosity and desire to improve conditions of patients we commonly saw in East New York, as well as to improve resident education and teaching. We are happy to involve other trainees in our activities and be involved in cross institutional research projects. Our current main interests involve Pediatric Sickle Cell Disease and Care, High Risk Infant Follow Up, and resident education.
