RURAL WATER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Rural Water and Development Programme Ghana (RWDP Ghana) is a local Christian nonprofit committed to providing clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene for everyone, everywhere, within a generation. Established in 1989 during a guinea worm epidemic in the Northern Region, RWDP Ghana addresses issues such as lack of clean drinking water and widespread open defecation... RWDP Ghana provides medical outreach services in deprived rural communities where health care delivery is usually non-existent. Through this intervention, community members are medically screened and provided with the basic medication. This intervention is implemented in partnership with the Ghana Health Service and other health care facilities in the Northern Regions of Ghana. Through this intervention, health screening is carried out in schools and communities and education given on preventive health issues.
