Asley Leo

Her dreams are big, her kids are small, and when it comes to animals she loves them all! Meet Ashley, a certified veterinary technician who began working for Whiting Veterinary Clinic as a veterinary assistant and hopes to someday attend veterinary school.

Dani Eckert

Job Titles:
  • Receptionist
At a very young age, Dani developed the utmost love and compassion for all kinds of animals! In the past 20 years, she has had experience being a kennel technician, veterinary technician, and veterinary receptionist. She enjoys being able to work in multiple departments. She also has worked at an animal shelter and done dog walking and pet sitting. While she doesn't have any pets at the moment (in time that will change), she did have a pitbull who stole her heart! Since then she has been a big supporter of them! When she is not at work you can find her at pitbull events, the beach, out taking pictures, and of course, meeting new fur friends!

Dr. Deborah Ward

Dr. Deborah Ward received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 1996. After completing a rotating small animal internship at Southwest Veterinary Specialists, she completed her residency in small animal internal medicine and Master's degree research in gastrointestinal disease at Virginia Tech in 2000. Since obtaining her board certification in Internal Medicine in 2000, she has been practicing in the Northeast for the past 14 years, and in New Jersey since 2005. Dr. Ward's special interests include diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disease, renal and immune-mediated disease. She is an experienced endoscopist and ultrasonographer. Dr.Ward provides mobile ultrasonography services at our hospital.

Dr. Lisa F. Schorr

What do all these places have in common, Whiting, Africa, Galapagos Islands, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Canada, Belize, Virgin Islands, and Wisconsin? Answer - They are all places Dr. Schorr has worked with animals! Dr. Schorr had worked as a relief veterinarian at Whiting Veterinary Clinic for several years before she purchased the clinic in 2007. Dr. Schorr graduated from University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1993. Prior to attending Veterinary School she received a Bachelor's degree in in biology and a Masters degree in Wildlife Disease and Parasitology. Although she spent a lot of time in school she found time to be a part of some interesting projects. Dr. Schorr spent a summer in Kenya, East Africa helping with a project to study rhinos. Another summer was spent in the Galapagos Islands helping with research on giant tortoises, and then trapping wild cats in Belize. She worked for the Canadian Wildlife Service trapping and banding ducks, helped collect wild pigs on Ossabow Island, and studied sea birds on an uninhabited island in the Caribbean. Dr. Schorr has always had a love and strong interest in animals of all kinds. She has now devoted herself to caring for your pets. Dr. Schorr lives with her husband Don who can frequently be found at the clinic helping out, Bambi, her rescued shelti, who is often behind the front desk begging for treats, and a crazy little cat named kisses, rescued from the Crestwood Community Gardens.

Eric Anthony DeRose

Job Titles:
  • Veterinarian
Dr. DeRose earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After finishing his studies, he was selected for an internship with Veterinary Specialist of South Florida in Cooper City. He then went on to his residency in veterinary cardiology at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ. He is especially interested in the treatment and management of congestive heart failure due to chronic valve disease or endocarditis, the most common form of acquired heart disease in dogs. Dr. DeRose strives to help veterinarians improve the quality of life for animals affected by this disease. Dr. DeRose provides mobile cardiology consultation services at our hospital.

Sue Sloan

Job Titles:

Sue is one of the first people who will greet you when you come into the clinic. She has been with the clinic for over 10 years. In addition to her front desk responsibilities, Sue is very helpful with recommendations on pet care and feeding. Sue enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband Russell, her daughter Shannon, her cats Jack, Murphy, and Rex, and her dogs Sweetie, and Termie.
