Cody Parrish

Cody serves on the WPC Canada's board as well as leading the WPC Canada Future Leaders board as their Chairman. Cody was the Program Director for the 4th WPC Youth Forum held in Calgary in 2013. He was responsible for leading a team of volunteers that developed and executed a world-class program with over 150 speakers, experts, and industry leaders from around the globe. The organizing committee received a Calgary Champion award from Meetings & Conventions Calgary for their efforts. Cody has spent his professional background working in various land, strategy and planning roles. Cody is currently a Senior Commercial Negotiator with Ember Resources. Cody also serves on the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL) General Meetings Committee. Cody holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Calgary, as well as, an MBA and Certificate in Socially Responsible Leadership from Queen's University.

David Crawford

David Crawford is currently an Independent Corporate Director and serves on Boards of Directors in Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada. At a professional level David is a Chartered Professional Accountant, an Environmental Professional and a Chartered Director. His business experience includes governance, risk management, sponsorship, event management, business development, accounting and finance in both the not-for-profit and private sectors. His corporate director experience is focused on ESG, or environmental, social and governance practices. He is a member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada's Advisory Board for Sustainable Business. Additionally, David is a member of the Board of Directors of Muscular Dystrophy Canada, the Recycling Council of British Columbia and the World Petroleum Council - Canada. Between 2013 and 2020 David was the Vice President and Assistant Secretary-Treasurer of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade. At the Board of Trade David led a team of event professionals who delivered outstanding experiences on a consistent basis. Denis Painchaud

Denis Painchaud is the President and CEO of Baneret Consulting Inc. since 2017. Baneret provides strategic government relations, business development and communications advice to clients across various industries, particularly in the energy sector. Denis is also the President and CEO of the 24th World Petroleum Congress and the past Chair of the Canadian Association of the World Petroleum Council. Denis led WPC Canada's winning international bid to host the world's largest energy conference which will take place in Calgary, Alberta September 17-21, 2023. The event will bring over $100 million in direct economic benefits to Canada. In addition, Denis acts as the Executive Director of the Resource Diversification Council whose members include Interpipeline, Keyera, Nova Chemicals, Nutrien, Pembina, Titanium Corporation, the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada, the Canadian Labour Relations Association, Stantec and NAIT. RDC's mandate is to promote value-added diversification opportunities within the energy industry in the Province of Alberta. Denis was the Director of International Government Relations for Nexen Energy ULC and later CNOOC Nexen from 2005-2016. Denis has also held other senior roles including Vice-President, Communications and Government Affairs with Aquila Networks Canada. Denis practiced law in Calgary for a number of years and served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development in the Government of Saskatchewan. Denis has served on many community Boards including roles as the Chair of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Calgary Police Commission. Denis attended the University of Saskatchewan earning a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws.

Dr. Randy Gossen

Dr. Randy Gossen has 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry primarily in the upstream, with both Esso Resources and Nexen. He has worked on projects and operations in all continents (except Antarctica). Randy has extensive experience in oil sands development and managed Esso's Cold Lake, Alberta, in situ oil sands facility. In addition, he has worked in corporate planning, HSE, social responsibility, government affairs, and regulatory affairs. Randy was Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility for Nexen Inc. from 1991 to 2005 and later was Vice President Global Business Relations at Nexen until his retirement in 2012. Randy was Chairman of the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) from 2000 to 2004. He was elected President of the World Petroleum Council in 2005 and re-elected in 2008. Randy was a member of the Board of Directors of the Russian integrated oil company JSOC Bashneft from June 2012 to June 2014 and served as Chair of the HSE Committee of the Board. Randy is a Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI) of the UK. He is a Special Advisor to the United Nations. Randy chaired the Board of Directors of Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific from 2012-2014. He currently serves as a member of the International Council for the Global Leadership Foundation chaired by former President of South Africa F.W. De Klerk and co-chaired by the Rt. Hon. Joe Clark. Randy has been an environmental advisor to the CAA since 1990.He is a pilot (inactive) and aircraft owner for over 25 years.

Dwain Lingenfelter

Dwain Lingenfelter is a businessman, farmer, politician and former Leader of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party. Lingenfelter won the leadership of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party on June 6, 2009. He resigned as leader on November 7, 2011. Previously, he has served as the president of the party. In previous NDP governments, Lingenfelter has served as Minister of Social Services, Minister of Economic Development, Minister responsible for Crown Investments Corporation, Minister of Agriculture and as the Deputy Premier. J. Dean Tucker

Dean brings over 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry both domestically and internationally working with junior, intermediate, senior and integrated multinational companies as well as time spent in the service sector. He has worked on exploration, production and development projects as well as A&D and corporate restructuring in North America, South America, Africa and the North Sea. Since 2003 Dean held senior management roles at Orion Oil & Gas Corporation, Crew Energy Inc., Pearl Exploration and Production Inc., and Real Resources. Most recently Dean was Chief Operating Officer of Caracal Energy Inc. After the sale of Caracal Energy Inc in 2014 he happily retired. Dean currently serves on the WPC Board and has been serving on the Board of Karate Alberta since 2014 as well as pursuing academic goals at the University of Calgary. Dean has a Bachelor of Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a registered engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Alberta.

James D. McFarland

Mr. McFarland is a corporate director and energy entrepreneur with more than 47 years of broad operational and senior executive experience in the oil and gas industry in Canada and internationally in both large integrated oil and gas companies and smaller start-up international E&P companies. He has been at the forefront of many unconventional oil and gas developments in his career and has raised significant capital to fund new business. He is a co-founder, current director and retired CEO of Valeura Energy Inc., which has been active in Turkey since 2011 (tight gas). Previously he was a co-founder, director and CEO of Verenex Energy Inc., which was a successful explorer in Libya (light oil) over the 2005 to 2009 period prior to its sale to the Libyan Investment Authority. He has served in other senior executive roles as Managing Director of Southern Pacific Petroleum NL in Australia (shale oil) and President & COO of Husky Oil Limited (heavy oil, offshore and conventional), and held a number of Vice Presidential roles (Oil Sands, Environment and Production Research) in his earlier 23-year career with Imperial Oil Limited in Canada and other ExxonMobil affiliates in the USA and Western Europe. Mr. McFarland is currently a director of two listed companies Valeura Energy Inc. (TSX/LSE) and MEG Energy Corp. (TSX), and is a long-serving member of the Congress Program Committee of the World Petroleum Council involved in organizing the next Congresses in Houston in December 2020 and Calgary in September 2023. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (Life Member), Society of Petroleum Engineers (Life Member) and Institute of Corporate Directors (Canada) and a past member of the Australian Institute of Corporate Directors. He is also a past director of several public and private entities including Arrow Exploration Corp., Pengrowth Energy Corporation, Verenex Energy Inc., Aventura Energy Inc., Vermilion Energy Trust, Vermilion Resources Ltd., Southern Pacific Petroleum NL, Central Pacific Minerals NL, Exxon Production Research Co. and Syncrude Canada Ltd. Mr. McFarland received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University at Kingston in 1970, a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1974 and completed the Executive Development Program at Cornell University in 1981. Joanna Desjardins

Joanna Desjardins is a Professional Engineer, currently a manager in Mergers & Acquisitions, specializing in the Energy, Resources and Industrials sector at Deloitte Consulting. Her focus is on international multi-billion-dollar integrations and separations. Prior to consulting, Joanna worked in industry for 16 years, and lead multiple large-scale projects for Acquisitions, Divestments, Joint Industry projects, and investments. Joanna started her career in M&A with the ConocoPhillips transfer of $17 billion in Canada. After the transaction, Joanna joined the Cenovus team in Calgary, Alberta. Previous to this, she held positions in subsurface and operations engineering, major projects, corporate planning and coordination for Global Wells, based in Houston. Joanna was appointed to the Executive Committee of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) in 2017 and remains as an officer on the Board. Lauren Savoie

Lauren has over 20 years of domestic and international experience in the energy industry where she has held facilities, environmental, development, commercial and engineering technical roles. She has extensive experience in project management, strategy development and managing budgets. Lauren joined on at Suncor in 2017 as Manager of Development and Engineering, Renewables where she worked on wind and solar projects. She has recently moved to a new role as Manager, Central Development where she leads a team responsible for development of medium complexity oil sand projects throughout the Wood Buffalo Region. Prior to her work at Suncor, she was Director, Petro Chad Transport, a pipeline company at Glencore E&P Inc. and Director, Asset Management at Caracal Energy Inc. which had assets in Chad Africa. Michael D. Josephson

Michael Josephson has more than 30 years' experience in the legal and petroleum industries. He is an alumnus of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and earned commerce and law degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He was called to the Bar of the Province of Alberta, Canada, in 1989. Following several years of private law practice with an oil & gas and corporate-commercial law firm in Calgary, Michael joined the international law department of Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd., which became known as Nexen Inc., in 2000. His work with Nexen (now known as CNOOC International) included managing the International Legal group and the Integrity & Compliance group. His work focuses on international energy negotiations, transactions, joint venture arrangements, petroleum operations, and international arbitrations and litigation in connection with investor-state and joint venture disputes. His work in the Integrity & Compliance area included advising on anti-corruption compliance, and overseeing the company's ethics and compliance policies, procedures and programs. Michael's experience includes transactions and petroleum operations in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America and South America. He has resided in Nigeria and the United Kingdom on assignments for the company. He is currently based in Calgary, Canada. Michael served as President of AIPN (Association of International Petroleum Negotiators) in 2015-2016, Vice-President of Model Contracts (2009-2012), Vice-President of Conferences (2012-2014) and on the AIPN Board of Directors (2008-2017).
