Al Gentry

Al Gentry has more than 35 years experience in real estate development, investment analysis, underwriting and finance. Al Gentry is a business development executive with more than 35 years of experience in manufacturing, developing and operating factories and real estate. His career reflects notable accomplishments in new development, acquisitions, asset management, debt structure, complex capital stacks, retrofitting assets and disposition. Al's multi-disciplined talents are transferable to a wide variety of corporate boards in the areas of policy making, strategic planning, governance and regulatory and compliance where he has impacted several boards, advisory groups and committees as chairman. Al directed implementation policies that became protocol for federal agency programs. In his position as an executive in the Treasury Department of International Paper, the world's largest paper company, Al sought Board approval for developing and operating billion-dollar manufacturing facilities round the world. Al worked as a real estate asset manager and acquisition executive overseeing a $2.5 billion portfolio for Fortune 500 international insurance companies, Aetna and John Hancock, where he presented acquisition investments to the Corporate Board. Al is the Managing Principal and owner of his own firm and crafted the value proposition for site development, architectural design, construction and leasing for $1 billion of mixed-used market rate and affordable development.

Brian Kim

Brian Kim has over 20 years of experience in the area of real estate finance that includes structuring of complex transactions using multiple financing sources. Mr. Kim, as a Portfolio Manager for Housing Opportunities Commission, was responsible for managing a bond portfolio totaling $360 million. During his tenure as the Portfolio Manager, he has underwritten various deals using tax-exempt bonds, taxable bonds, bond anticipated notes, and low income housing tax credit equities. Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Kim worked as an Investment Manager for The Commercial Bank of Korea responsible for underwriting fixed income debts. He has underwritten various transactions using Zero Coupon Bonds, FRN, and FRCD to be used as mezzanine financing. Mr. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration, with concentration in International Finance, from American University.

Earl De Maris

Earl De Maris is Senior Advisor and former employee of HOC. Mr. De Maris held positions with HOC including Chief Financial Officer, Director of Mortgage Finance and Director of Real Estate. Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. De Maris served five years as the Director of the Maryland Housing Fund (MHF) at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and also was responsible for the management of the State's $2.5 billion mortgage portfolio. Mr. De Maris founded Perkins - De Maris in 1983, a regional investment banking firm and NASD broker-dealer, and managed the firm until its sale in 1992. He has also served as a member of the Senior Executive Service for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as Chief Financial Officer of a publicly traded electronics manufacturing company, as Director of Corporate Development for an international chemical company, and as a senior securities analyst for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. on Wall Street. He has a B.A. degree from Columbia College and an MBA from The Wharton School. He was also a commissioned officer in the United States Naval Reserve.

Larry Stewart
