Aimee Guidera is a Senior Advisor for Entangled Solutions. A respected thought leader in education, Aimee was named one of TIME's 12 Education Activists of 2012. She has also been cited as an expert on education policy and the value of education data by publications such as Business Week, NPR, and Education Week. Aimee is a Pahara-Aspen Education Fellow and an alumna of the Institute for Educational Leadership's Education Policy Fellowship Program. One of her career highlights has been having Data Quality Campaign (DQC) named as The Washingtonian's Best Places to Work. She serves on the board of directors of the Institute for Educational Leadership, the Policy Innovators in Education Network, Minnesota Comeback, and the Friends of the Hennepin County (Minnesota) Library. Aimee is also the Senior Warden of St. Martin's by the Lake Episcopal Church. Before founding DQC, Aimee served as the director of the Washington, DC, office of the National Center for Educational Achievement. She previously served as vice president and chief of staff for the National Alliance of Business (NAB), worked in the education division of the National Governors Association's Center for Best Practices, and taught for the Japanese Ministry of Education. Aimee received her bachelor's degree from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and earned a master's degree in public policy from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Akiba Covitz

Akiba Covitz has led business development processes at numerous Ed Tech start-ups. He started his career as a tenure-track professor, winning campus-wide and nationwide teaching awards. After a stint in the private equity world, Akiba went on to become Associate Dean for Faculty Development and member of the faculty at Harvard Law School where he oversaw the extraordinary expansion and diversification of the HLS faculty, after a long period of stagnant growth. Akiba then served as the founding vice president for University Relations at edX, which now exceeds 20 million learners. Akiba went around the world many times over talking to presidents, provosts, board members, faculty members, and students, helping all stakeholders see the coming online revolution. Akiba was then brought to Academic Partnerships, an online program management provider, where he was senior vice president for strategic relationships. Akiba is currently Chief Revenue Officer at Sense Education, an AI company that uses machine learning to scale feedback from course staff, allowing small classes to become large classes, and making those large classes feel like small classes. Most recently, Akiba was head of business development at Minerva Project, one of the most innovative and most global educational companies. Akiba has served as a senior advisor to the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), where he led the design and creation of an innovative partnership between the IADB, the government of Uruguay, multiple educational institutions in Uruguay, Harvard's Program on Negotiation, and MIT's Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL), to bring the most advanced technology skills to one of the most progressive countries in the Americas. He has served as co-editor of the "Higher Ed Gamma" blog (because "Higher Ed Beta" was just so Late 20th Century) in the journal Inside Higher Education, where you can see some of his writings. Akiba holds graduate degrees in political science from the University of Pennsylvania, and law from Yale Law School. His undergraduate studies were in classical liberal arts at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.

Alaina Leggette

Alaina Leggette is a Consultant with Entangled Solutions. As a former 11th grade physics teacher, she brings tangible K-12 experience to the team. Her time as a classroom teacher exposed her to the inefficiencies and inequity that exists in the education space and made her deeply passionate about finding solutions to progress student learning. Prior to joining Entangled Solutions, Alaina supported the VIQI study, which is funded by the Administration of Children and Families and aims to assess drivers of quality in various Pre-K curricula. Most recently, Alaina worked in partnership with her capstone team and the New York City's Center for Innovation through Data Intelligence, the policy arm of the mayor's office, to develop a comprehensive, place-based well-being index for the city. This index, which included education as a fundamental domain, paints a clearer picture of New York City residents' well-being, as compared to other economic measures, such as GDP per capita. Alaina holds a B.S. and B.A. in Economics and Biology, respectively, from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.

While at Penn, Doug launched a host of executive degree programs focused including one for TFA, one for corporate learning, one for physicians and one for boarding school teachers. At NYU, he was an early adopter of e-learning, served as a founding member of Sloan-C (now OLN) and testified before Congress and the UN on the subject in the mid-90's. Dr. Nicole Tempel Assisi

Dr. Nicole Tempel Assisi is an accomplished leader in innovative education with a focus on school design, organizational development and greater access and outcomes for all learners. She started her career as a classroom teacher and was a founding team member for Camino Nuevo Charter Academy. As a school leader and education entrepreneur she designed and co-founded the Da Vinci Schools (an XQ super school winner) and Thrive Public Schools. As the CEO and Founder for Thrive, Dr. Assisi and her team built schools aimed at serving San Diego's most vulnerable populations, and received national recognition as a model for serving students with disabilities. Dr. Assisi also served as a professor for the Charter School Policy, Finance, and Administration Certificate Program at UCLA, the Charter and Autonomous School Leadership Academy at Cal State Dominguez Hills and the School of Leadership and Education at the University of San Diego. She is a frequent speaker at statewide and regional conferences on education reform, community engagement and school leadership. Immediately prior to joining Entangled, Patrick was a Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group, where he was part of the U.S. education leadership team and a core member of BCG's client enablement team. At BCG, he focused on solving the challenges to companies' workforces brought on by digitization, automation, and accelerating change. He has advised CEOs and other leaders of mission-driven companies and organizations in the U.S. and abroad on core strategic and operational priorities. Patrick earned his BA in Economics and Public Policy Studies from Duke University, an MA in Teaching from Dominican University in Chicago, and an MBA (with distinction) from Harvard Business School. He is an avid reader, writer, and rambler.

Paul Freedman is the CEO and co-founder of Entangled Group and is a Principal Consultant at Entangled Solutions. A longtime advocate for the transformative power of a college education, he has founded, managed, and invested in a number of successful education ventures. Prior to Entangled Group, Paul was the founder and CEO of Altius Education, an innovator in higher education focused on creating effective, personalized pathways to postsecondary degrees. While still finishing college at The University of Chicago, Paul created Academic Engine, a college recruitment technology company that he later sold to Hobsons Inc. in 2004. After selling the company, Paul joined Hobsons as the president of its subsidiary focused on online student recruitment technologies, where he served for five years prior to founding Altius.

Stuart comes to Entangled from Udacity, an online education platform helping lifelong learners advance their career in technology. There Stuart lead Udacity's Learning Products team during the design, development, and launch of 20+ educational products. He also build key product partnerships with industry leaders like Google, Facebook, NVIDIA, AWS, and AT&T as VP of Business Development and Partnerships. Prior to Udacity, Stuart co-founded Eduvant which helps K12 school districts and CMOs better leverage the myriad data they collect for actionable insights. As CEO and co-founder, Stuart worked closely with schools and districts around the country to develop and iterate on the tools they needed. He began his career in education by opening English Language schools across Chinawith Aston Educational Group. He also led case teams as a strategy consultant with the Monitor Group. Stuart holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Davidson College. He is based in San Francisco and has lived and worked in Boston as well as China.

Prior to Sixup, Terah spent four years at Arizona State University. While there, she served the Office of the President and the CEO of the ASU Foundation through designing and building innovative new programs and revenue streams, including a public service academy, a defense contractor, an edtech accelerator she co-founded, and a new corporate structure for the university's foundation. A former high school dropout and first generation student turned alumna of UNC-Chapel Hill, Brown, and Harvard, Terah is passionate about the individual, social, and economic impact of education.

Zaza Kabayadondo

Zaza is a Case Team Leader with Entangled Solutions. She brings 10 years of experience working with education institutions to design richer learning experiences and environments. Before joining Entangled, Zaza was Visiting Assistant Professor at the Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking at Tulane University, where she helped the center build a research program in social innovation. In her previous role as founding director of the Design Thinking Initiative at Smith College, she led a $2.5 million pilot program to incorporate design thinking into liberal arts education. She developed the vision, strategy, and curriculum for a future center. She taught Smith faculty and students and designed the college's first open prototyping studio and classroom. While in Massachusetts, she was an entrepreneur-in-residence at the Springfield-based business accelerator program run by Valley Venture Mentors where she provided just-in-time coaching on customer and design research to minority-led start-ups. Zaza holds a BA in Media Arts and Sciences from Wellesley College and a PhD in Learning Sciences and Technology Design from Stanford University's Graduate School of Education. She is co-editor of the volume Taking Design Thinking to School and co-developed the first series of conferences in design thinking for educators. Her research takes her back to her home country, Zimbabwe, where she facilitates workshops for doctors to improve their practice and innovate in healthcare management.
