Dominique Armitage Riley

Dominique Armitage Riley has a strong veterinary-based background after she completed a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Science at The Royal Veterinary College in London. Here she began her focus on Animal Physiotherapy modalities after completing her dissertation exploring "Muscle Stiffness in the Equine Back". In 2012 Dominique went on to study her postgraduate course in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University which she successfully completed. As a result of this Dominique is now an active member of ASSVAP (Association for the Scientific Study of Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapy) and RAMP (Register for Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners) where she continues her professional development by enrolling and completing a variety of CPD opportunities. Throughout Dominique's life she has gained a vast wealth of 'hands-on' experience working with animals of all shapes and sizes by completing various placements on farms, studs, zoos etc. Dominique however developed her real interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation when she worked at Parks Farm Equine Therapy Centre based in North Yorkshire. Dominique has now secured a place at Westwood Veterinary Practice (Boston Spa and Garforth) as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. Away from her career as a Veterinary Physiotherapist Dominique has always indulged her passion for owning and caring for animals be it dogs, cats or horses. In her free time she enjoys nothing more than spending a day out at our parents farm with her husband Simon and son Sebastian.

Zara Dickson

Zara is the owner of Yorkshire Animal Therapy has completed extensive training and work experience within the veterinary and rehabilitation field. She trained as a veterinary nurse from the age of seventeen, officially qualifying back in 2010 after completing detailed case studies and portfolios alongside an NVQ II and NVQ III qualification. This allowed her to become a registered vet nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). In 2011 Zara also graduated from the University of the West of England (Hartpury College) with a 2.1 - BSc (Hons) degree in Veterinary Nursing Science. Throughout her education Zara worked as a veterinary nurse in various Yorkshire based veterinary centres and hospitals. This is where she developed her interest in orthopaedics, rehabilitation and neurology. In 2012 Zara started a three year masters degree in McTimoney Animal Manipulation at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon which she successfully completed in 2015. Zara also qualified as a canine hydrotherapist in 2015 after gaining a certificate in canine hydrotherapy from Whitehouse Hydrotherapy Training in Lincoln. Finally Zara has recently completed her equine and canine Laser Therapy Training with Omega Laser Systems and received certification. Aside from her studies Zara has a passion for animals owning various horses, dogs and cats. In her spare time she also enjoys horse riding and dog walking.
