Food, building, and transportation sector result in 60% of annual expenditures and contribute to 80% of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the United States. COVID-19 has worsened a crisis of food security, infrastructure, and transportation, and has disproportionately affected the most vulnerable in society. By enhancing sustainability, resilience, and equity in rapidly growing urban areas, BUREK Lab aims to mitigate climate change and other environmental, social, and economic risks.
