J & J Meats started 20 years ago when John Lehn started making products in his garage for customers with venison. It was a huge success, but got too busy for the season with a full time job. So, John decided to go commercial. John partnered with his wife's cousin, Jeff Raven. They bought a commercial building in Cadillac, Michigan. The building used to be the warehouse for Farmer Peets, a meat distributor which many locals remember. J & J Meats opened in 2014 and started making and smoking delicious products for distribution... At Up North Specialty Meats we sell a large variety of shelf stable ( products that don't need refrigeration until opened).
