Anat Shaltiel

Anat qualified in 2004, she arrived in the UK in 2007 and joined the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Since then she has worked with small animals and in 2013 has gained the Certificate in Animal Physiotherapy. Anat's main interests are internal medicine and rehabilitation therapy. She lives with her husband (who is also a vet) 3 children, a disabled cat and a blind dog.

Charlotte (Charlie) Storer

Charlie joined us as a trainee in 1991 and qualified as a VN in 1994 and has progressed through the ranks and is now our joint Head Nurse with Julia. She has also qualified as an assessor to enable her to train student nurses. She says that the most rewarding part of the job is the chance to provide comfort and ease the suffering of pets. She says the sheer variety of cases makes each day interesting and different from the last. Charlie lives in Radlett with husband Lee. Charlie has a baby daughter, Erin Louisa.

Di Brown

Di joined us in May 1994 after taking early retirement from the London Ambulance Service. She says that the transition from dealing with people to dealing with pets and their owners was a perfect move for her as she has always had pets of her own, together with an interest in nature and wildlife in general. She meets many of our clients in the park when walking her three dogs. She has been a volunteer worker for the National Animal Welfare Trust for years and is now a Trustee! Here, she co-ordinates the gifts of food that many of our clients bring in to the surgery for the NAWT.

Emete Ismail

Emete qualified from The University of Liverpool in 2020 and worked in an independent small animal practice in West London before moving closer to home and joining the team at East Barnet Vets in 2021. She loves all aspects of veterinary and is yet to have chosen an area to specialise in, however she has always had a particular interest in feline medicine. At home Em has her own cat, Toffee, who she rescued from East Barnet Vets as a stray whilst on a work experience placement and her two kittens, Ivy and Cosmo, who started off as patients of hers with cat flu that she nursed back to health. In her spare time you can find Em eating out, travelling and spending time with friends and family

Julia Mason

Kirsty Pond-Smith

Kirsty joined us in 2009. She previously worked as an Administrator. Kirsty has grown up with dogs and still helps out at the family home with two retrievers and a cat. She presently lives in Enfield with her Husband, David & son, Max..

Magdalena Sadowska

Magdalena qualified in 2012 in Warsaw and joined one of the biggest round the clock clinics in Poland. For 4 years she consulted, taking care of hospital inpatients and providing emergency services to small animals. Her main field of interest was nephrology and she performed several haemodialysis on cats and dogs with kidney failure. In 2015 she joined the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and started work in the UK. In 2018 she's completed Small Animal Medicine Certificate post-graduate studies in Poland. Her main point of interest is diagnostic imaging (ultrasound) and soft tissue surgery. Magdalena re-homed a stray cat Edgar - one of her patients saved from a road traffic accident. She lives with her partner and son Jacob. Outside work she's interested in fitness and traveling.

Maxine Finn

Maxine has been with us since 1995 - her previous career was in banking. Apart from reception duties Maxine also deals with administration, insurance and general queries. She is married with a son and has four rescued dogs & three horses, one she bred herself.Maxine also provides a service, where she cares for Client's dogs whilst they are on holiday. She enjoys dining out & meeting up with friends.

Murry Welsh

Murry qualified with Ralph in1990 from the Royal Veterinary College and joined us in 2000 after spending 7 months travelling around the world, having sold his own practice in Enniskillen. His interests are in soft tissue & orthopaedic surgery. He has been an external examiner for the Royal Veterinary College since 2004 & which he describes as a little like the poacher turned gamekeeper. He is married to Perdi, a Veterinary Nurse who is involved with veterinary education at the RVC. They have a daughter Abigail & son Rufus & two re-homed cats, one of Irish extraction & the other a victim of a North Circular road accident which required Murry's orthopaedic skills.

Rachel King

Rachel qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2008 & worked in small animal & exotic practice for 5 years before joining the team at East Barnet. In 2011 Rachael completed the General Practitioners Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice. She enjoys treating all manner of pets including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles, birds & even the occasional fish. She is an enthusiastic surgeon and loves the variety of cases she sees. She lives at home with husband Tim, their son Sam, dog (Lenny), cats (Joey & Puss) and tortoise (Tortellini).

Ralph Bailey

Ralph qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1990. After working in small animal and mixed practices in Oxford, Barnet and Somerset he started working at East Barnet in June 1994. He became a partner in the practice in 2000. Although originally from Barnet (he went to East Barnet School), he now lives in Colney Heath with his wife Sarah (who is Nursing Manager at the Queen Mother Hospital, RVC) and son Edward. Veterinary Interests include soft tissue surgery, fluid therapy, and emergency medicine. Outside work his hobbies are running, cycling and playing squash and gardening

Sam Yeats

Sam lives in Enfield with her boyfriend Andrew. She has previously worked in a Vets and loves working with animals. Her greatest experience was swimming with dolphins in the wild in New Zealand whilst travelling for 3 months. She doesn't currently have any pets but did have a Syrian hamster called Gwen.

Sue Wain

Sue the team joined us in March 2010. Previous jobs have included dog walking and co-ordinating the care of pets in carer's homes. Sue has always had pets herself and at the moment has a nine month old English Bull Terrier, a pony called Chance and some tropical fish. Sue is married with two children and in her spare time enjoys walking her dog & riding her pony.
