Bob Went

Job Titles:
  • Chairman & Principal Consultant.
Bob has over 50 years experience working in the Water Industry. He spent 40 years at Thames Water where he was a Principal Mechanical Engineer and over 10 years as Group Consultant at ITT Water & Wastewater. Bob is currently Pump Centre Chairman a role that he originally held from 1993 to 2003. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers​ and provides a wide range of technical expertise to the Centre.

Dennis Goodlad

Job Titles:
  • Principal Consultant - Mechanical Engineering.
Dennis has a consultancy background having worked for a number of companies in both the UK and abroad. His roles prior to 2006 were predominantly concerned with managing multi disciplinary Engineering Design teams as part of the delivery of complex capital projects. Before joining the Pump Centre to assist with training and consultancy work Dennis was a Senior Consultant at Jacobs in their Water Group.

Geof Brown

Job Titles:
  • Principal Consultant - Electrical Engineering.
Geoff started in the business as a Student Apprentice with Allen West, in Brighton, taking a college diploma in Electrical Engineering. He became a Project Engineer designing control panels and switchboards mostly in their crane Section. He worked for SPP in Reading as the electrical buyer, but in reality as a project engineer, working on a number of high profile projects, with both electric motors and diesel engines. He was recruited by Stromberg as a Project Engineer for variable speed drives, they were taken over by ASEA, who then merged with Brown Boveri and became ABB. He was with them for around 30 years becoming Product Manager and then Consultant.

Jim Eaves

  • Business Development Manager
Jim joined the Pump Centre as business development manager in 2002. His key role is to interface with the members and make sure that they are getting the best value from their membership. Jim is in regular contact with the members either; face to face or over the phone.

John Howarth

Job Titles:
  • Manager
John is the manager of the team and has been involved with the ​Pump Centre since 1992. ​His original role as technical consultant involved helping members with technical issues, developing seminars/event and delivering training. He took over as Pump Centre manager in 1999 and under his guidance the Centre has steadily developed and grown.

Karen Bridgeman

Job Titles:
  • Membership
Karen, who is the newest full-time member of the team, came on board in 2008. ​She is responsible for co-ordinating the Pump Centre conference, various events and also our training courses. She also deals with all the membership administration and making sure everything is well organised.​

Karen Johnson

Kevin Gaunt

Job Titles:
  • Principal Consultant - Mechanical Engineering.
Kevin is an articulate and adaptable engineer with extensive experience within Engineering, Manufacturing and Operational environments. He has a proven track record of developing high performing teams, delivering Capital Projects on time and within budget and implementing technical improvements due to changing legislative, Health and Safety or financial requirements. Kevin is also a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and past chair of the IMechE's Water Committee.

Roger Marlow

Job Titles:
  • Principal Consultant
  • Materials Engineer
  • Principal Consultant and WIMES Co - Ordinator
Roger is a materials engineer who took over the responsibility for the Water Industry Mechanical & Electrical (WIMES) project over 15 years ago. ​Working closely with a core team of principal engineers within the Water Industry he has developed and maintained a suite of over 60 common mechanical and electrical specifications.

Steve Moore

Job Titles:
  • Mechanical Engineer
  • Principal Consultant - Rotating Machinery Engineer.
Steve is a mechanical engineer with vast experience of pump maintenance and until recently was the rotating machinery Engineer for a major chemical company with responsibility to maintain hundreds of pumps of different types and sizes.
