Established is 1886, by Shri Girish Chandra Das Gupta, Das Gupta & Company Private Limited is a landmark in the book district of Kolkata, College Street. A heritage bookshop for over 125 years, Das Gupta continues to live up to the founder's noble ideal of "the spreading of knowledge"... The shop started operations with 50 books only. The address of the shop was 64, College Street. Presidency College, Hindu School, Hare School,etc were its famous neighbours.
