Ashley (Ash) Williams is a scientist, researcher, and educator who has spent the past twenty years unraveling complex biological phenomena to improve human health and shaping the next generation of scientists who will continue making important discoveries in the future. He completed his Ph.D.at Indiana University in microbiology and genetics. He then went on to post-doctoral fellowships at Harvard University and the University of Southern California. After his post-doctoral work, Ash moved to Cologne, Germany, where he was on the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cologne as well as a principal investigator in the Cologne Center for Molecular Medicine. As a scientist, he has made discoveries in the fields of bacterial mutagenesis, developmental biology, and pathogenesis. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
Rose Nash obtained her bachelor's degree from Indiana University (Bloomington) and her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she used genomic technologies to better understand DNA repair mechanisms in bacteria. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Colorado-Boulder before transitioning to InDevR, a Boulder biotechnology company that develops new tools to serve the influenza vaccine industry. In this position, she brought four products from concept to commercial launch, served on an international task force consisting of vaccine manufacturers, assay developers, and regulatory agencies, and helped to bring in millions of dollars of non-dilutive and dilutive funding.
