John Yunker has helped a wide range of Fortune 500 companies improve their global websites and application. He has experience consulting with some of the world's largest companies and has also worked as senior program manager at Microsoft. He authored the first book devoted to the emerging field of web globalization, Beyond Borders: Web Globalization Strategies. John speaks at numerous industry events, including Localization World, Internet Retailer, and the Unicode Conference and has been quoted on global topics in publications including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. He is also editor of the popular web globalization blog Global by Design.
Over the past decade John has helped hundreds of companies and organizations improve their global websites and processes. He also has extensive experience managing globalization on the client side, such as a senior program manager at Microsoft.
He has written a number of landmark reports, including 19 annual editions of The Web Globalization Report Card, Geolocation for Global Success, and Destination: Marketing
He authored the first book devoted to website globalization, Beyond Borders: Web Globalization Strategies as well as the most recent book Think Outside the Country (also available in Japanese).
He has spoken at numerous industry events, including the Unicode Conference, Brand2Global, Internet Retailer, and Localization World. He has a journalism degree from the University of Missouri and an MS from Boston University. He has contributed to numerous publications and media, including UX Magazine and Multilingual Magazine
John is also passionate about animal rights and is author of The Tourist Trail and co-founder of Ashland Creek Press.
Midge has edited and co-produced every edition of The Web Globalization Report Card. She has more than a decade of experience in writing, editing, and publishing, having worked with such publishing houses as Penguin Putnam, St. Martin's Press, Bantam, and Houghton Mifflin.
She taught communication writing at Boston University, where she earned her master's degree in international communication. An award-winning writer, she writes for both print and web publications.
She is author of the novel My Last Continent, published by Scribner, and the award-winning short story collection Forgetting English.
