Ali Malik

With a natural inclination towards the sciences, Ali has studied or worked in the fields of robotics, autonomous systems and systematic reviews since completing his BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Greenwich in 2017.

Dr. Gillian Petrokofsky

Gill has been conducting systematic reviews and systematic maps for over 10 years. She has a particular interest in exploring the use of quicker ways of undertaking systematic evaluation that suit the policy timeframes of most decision-makers. Gill set up and led a collaborative international project - Evidence-Based Forestry Initiative (EBF) and continues to work on outputs related to that initiative with scientists, policymakers and practitioners focussed on questions of high priority to countries of the global South, in particular. She has published more than 20 systematic maps and reviews on a wide variety of topics, from marine stewardship eco-labelling to the effects of prescribed burning in temperate and boreal forest. She works closely with colleagues in the Collaboration for Environmental Evidence and is co-author of the Guidelines and Standards for Evidence Synthesis in Environmental Management. Gill is an Associate Researcher with the Oxford Long-term Ecology Group, University of Oxford (OXLEL). For a list of publications, click here

Dr. Henrik Hannemann

Henrik's research interests at university targeted the cross-section of ecology and economics. His work draws on the best possible evidence for conservation policies and their scientific basis across an interdisciplinary background examining their suitability for the future under changing climatic conditions and shifting biodiversity baselines. After graduating from St Andrews, he continued his studies at Oxford completing both an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management and a DPhil in Zoology.

Dr. Herizo Andrianandrasana

Herizo is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Sustainable Development, University of Warwick. He received his DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford, Department of Zoology (now Dept of Biology), looking at the effectiveness of community-based conservation in Madagascar. Herizo is a conservation biologist, with extensive field experience and interests in ecological monitoring, remote sensing, and Geographical Information System.

Dr. Matt Jordon

Job Titles:
  • Chief Scientific Officer at Regenerate Outcomes
Matt is Chief Scientific Officer at Regenerate Outcomes and an active livestock farmer in the northeast of England, UK. He recently completed a DPhil at the University of Oxford focused on the application of systematic methods to parametrise spatially explicit models of land management changes, to better understand carbon sequestration and ecosystem service delivery. He is also a Research Associate at the Oxford Martin School where he led an evidence synthesis on grazing livestock and soil carbon in grasslands. Matt has fieldwork experience in the UK, Ghana, Borneo and Tenerife, including work on biological control of crop pests. He has led systematic review projects focusing on agroforestry, livestock and farming.

Dr. Peter Long

Peter is an environmental scientist with research focused on generating spatially-explicit information about land cover, biodiversity and ecosystem services to inform land management.

Francis Harvey

Having completed his MSc in International Business Management at the University of Durham, Francis has worked focused on business growth and development, providing strategy for an eclectic group of businesses including William. B. Rudow Inc. and PBN Publications; as well as providing market commentary and research towards the valuation and sale of multiple multimillion-pound hotels and resorts across the UK and internationally including Cape Verde and the Dominican Republic. Francis has worked with various systematic review projects for the last several years, providing innovative insight and research acuities.

Leo Petrokofsky

After first studying in Computer Science, Leo has been working on systematic reviews of drug treatments and other public health interventions for Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia.

Zafar Khurshid

In 2019 Zafar Khurshid co-founded the firm of Talwar Khurshid Chauhan (TKC) LLP along with Mr. Samer V. Talwar and Amit Singh Chauhan, prior to which he worked under Senior Advocates in the Supreme Court of India where he assisted in matter of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Service/Direct Tax, Criminal Appeals, and Public Interest Litigation. Zafar also regularly appeared before the National Company Law Tribunal in Competition matters and has assisted on many high profile cases on behalf of the Competition Commission of India. As Senior Partner in the firm he continues to appear before various courts and tribunals, including the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi, Learned District Court in the NCR, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). In addition he is also frequently engaged in Arbitration matters, and is a member of the Organising Committee of the Annual PCA India Arbitration Conference. Zafar Khurshid is a graduate of Delhi University, having read for his B.A. at St. Stephen's College, followed by an LL.B. from Campus Law Centre. He has holds multiple Masters degrees from Queen Mary University of London and the University of Oxford, specialising in Intellectual Property Rights.​
