Amy Hetrick

Amy Hetrick, MSW, LSW, CTP (she/her/hers) has been working with women with substance use disorder (SUD) as the founder and director of a transitional living program for nearly a decade. In this role, she has utilized her gifts of compassion, empathy, and connection to gain the trust of her clients. With her Masters of Social Work degree, Amy strives to create a safe space to allow individuals to experience vulnerability and reconnect with their authentic selves. Amy thinks outside the box to collaborate with her clients to encourage them to discover joy, develop hope, and find a sense of purpose. As a ceramic artist, painter, musician, chef, and gardener, Amy's joy comes from the art of living. Amy is a trained facilitator in the externalization process of the Growth and Transition Workshop. She has also completed her EMDR training. Amy honors the sacredness of trauma. She believes that repairing the disconnection of self, caused by the pain of trauma, is a fluid healing process. Integrating the past and present to discover inner freedom in order to navigate a hopeful future.

Cornell Davis III

Cornell Davis III, MSW, LSW (he/him/his) is a social worker and clinician that desires to facilitate the healing of individuals, families, and communities. Prior to coming to the Phoenix Center, he was the director of a multi-campus program that served children and families across several counties and brings over a decade of experience in behavioral and public health, child welfare, and community mental health. He has worked within residential and K-12 settings, outpatient facilities, and with vulnerable populations that experienced interpersonal and community violence, resource deprivation, abandonment, and intergenerational trauma. In his current role as the board chair of NASW-PA, he is honored to represent social workers by enhancing the value of the profession and advocating for the well-being of individuals and society. His central drive -and joy- is to help people thrive through a values-oriented and intuitive stance that promotes introspection, wellness, and the resolution of distress, pain, and adverse life events.

Danielle McGrogan

Danielle McGrogan, MSW, LSW, CET I (she/her/hers) is a holistic, relational, trauma-informed therapist. Danielle connects with clients through authenticity, curiosity and warmth. She works collaboratively and trusts clients as the experts of their own experiences. As a Certified Experiential Therapist, Danielle weaves psychodrama and expressive arts techniques in sessions to gently guide clients as they explore, heal, and discover a balanced way of being. She honors the unique experience of each individual client by having a flexible, tailored approach. Danielle works with adults, adolescents (12+), and couples impacted by anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, perinatal and postpartum challenges, and traumatic life experiences. In previous roles, Danielle supported survivors of interpersonal violence, abuse, and torture. Danielle empowers clients through a strengths-based lens and offers a variety of tools for clients to develop and utilize independently. Clients have described Danielle as nurturing, calm, and encouraging. As a Licensed Social Worker, Danielle recognizes environments and systems we exist in have a profound impact on us. Grounded in intersectionality, Danielle affirms and celebrates clients who identify part of LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, immigrant, and religious minority communities. Danielle actively engages in ongoing education and training to support clients in exploring their identities and rewriting their ongoing stories of resilience. She is in the process of completing her EMDR Basic Training and looks forward to integrating the approach with clients.

David F Moran

David F. Moran MSW, LCSW, CADC, TEP (he/him/his) is both an Experiential Trauma Therapist and Clinical Consultant at the Phoenix Center providing therapy, consultation, and clinical supervision for our team. He has worked professionally in the behavioral health field since 1993. David served as Administrative Director of Substance Abuse Services for Crozer Health for 26 yrs. He served as an Executive Council Member 2005-2020, Vice President & President 2009-2015 of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy & Psychodrama (ASGPP). He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy (TEP), Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC), Co-occurring Disorder Professional (CCDP). Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) International Association (EMDRIA) trained level I & II, trained trauma therapist, and Attuned Reiki Specialist level II. David is also trained as an Interventionist through the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependency.

Dr. Scott Giacomucci

Scott is a prodigy at trauma work and especially psychodrama and experiential therapy. He has put together a wonderful center to participate in important, symptom reducing experiences. I often send my own clients to Scott for important experiential work that impacts the brain so that they can experience success. The strengths-based psychodrama workshop was an incredible experience. Scott is a skilled educator and facilitator. I look forward to applying what I learned in my practice!

Haydn Briggs

Haydn Briggs MSS, LCSW, CET II, CGP (he/him/his) is a psychotherapist focused on addiction recovery and post-traumatic growth with individuals and groups. Haydn practices through an Internal Family Systems framework, employing humor and playfulness as tools for establishing safety and enhancing the therapeutic relationship. He weaves traditional talk-therapy methods with action-based methods to create with clients a therapeutic relationship that is rigorous, compassionate, and joyful. Haydn has completed Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute and is certified in EMDR through EMDRIA. Haydn has experience providing psychotherapy, clinical services, education, and clinical consultation to individuals and groups in various settings including schools, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs), and Sober-Living Programs. He specializes in systemic and experiential work- Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Psychodrama. As our Group Therapy Services Coordinator, Haydn supports our other therapists and interns in developing and implementing new therapy groups and community support groups at the Phoenix Center. He provides ongoing leadership, consultation, and mentorship focused on group facilitation while also continuing to facilitate groups himself (see more info below).

John Webster

John Webster (he/him/his) is a graduate student in the Immaculata University Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. John brings a warm, non-judgmental presence to his work and strives to create a truly safe space for clients to share their story. John comes to the helping profession as a career changer; he spent over ten years in corporate leadership roles where he learned the importance of relationships, strength-building and listening to better understand. John's approach is trauma-informed, attentive, and collaborative. He looks forward to working together to process past experiences, traumas, and loss, moving towards a stance of empowerment. He is client-centered and believes each client has the strengths and the insight within to thrive. John has completed introductory training in EMDR on his path to certification. His approach is integrative of principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy, with an emphasis on reworking the response and stories left by trauma. In addition, John looks for opportunities to incorporate experiential, grounding or mindfulness exercises into his work. In his words: Sometimes our past experiences can feel like a weight on our day-to-day lives. Often, our experiences have impacted us in ways that we can only discover through a journey of interpersonal work; curiosity matched with compassion. I see myself as an active listener and a companion on your journey and I am humbled by the opportunity to work alongside you. John has an interest in working with all age groups and backgrounds. He has a passion for working with individuals and families coping with issues around anxiety and depression, PTSD, substance abuse and religious trauma. John's typical fee is $85 for individual therapy (50 min); he can work on a flexible sliding scale if needed.

Lauren Sullivan

Lauren Sullivan, MEd, MS, NCC (she/her/hers) is a pre-licensed Professional Counselor who graduated from Villanova University with her Master's in Counseling. One of Lauren's strengths is her ability to establish connection with her clients. Compassionate, caring and non-judgmental, Lauren works with each client to help them build on their strengths, tap into their inner wisdom and identify their personal goals. Based on the client's needs, style and objectives, Lauren works collaboratively to integrate a variety of modalities using traditional talk therapy as well as experiential, trauma-informed, holistic, mindfulness-based approaches. A lifelong learner, Lauren makes it a priority to attend trainings and stay current with the latest research and professional literature. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Practitioner as well as Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Stress Reduction, and Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (STDP) and Trauma Therapy. She comes to the field of counseling after a long career in education where she served as a teacher, dean, and admission associate director. After years of providing support and guidance in her career, volunteer work and as a parent, Lauren decided to formalize her passion for counseling. Lauren most recently spent a year and a half providing clinical counseling to young adults at Rosemont College Counseling Center. Prior to that she has served as a grief facilitator and as a volunteer in a shelter for victims of interpersonal violence. She has extensive experience working with adolescents, parents and young adults. She is especially passionate about helping women of all ages who seek to heal from trauma and relieve suffering from challenges and mental health issues.

Lewis Johnson

Lewis Johnson, M.S., NCC, CTP, CET I (he/him/his) is an Experiential Trauma Therapist with a Master of Science degree in Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Neumann University. He is an EMDR-trained therapist and a Certified Trauma Professional. Lewis believes that every client with whom he engages has the answers that they seek within themselves; however, they sometimes need a companion to provide additional guidance and support as they unravel the threads within their life that have caused them to feel "stuck." Through collaboration and communication between the client and himself, Lewis sees the therapeutic alliance as the key to a client's growth and progress. Lewis weaves in psychodrama and other experiential techniques in the work he does with clients to help them verbalize or change the narrative of their story. In a previous role, Lewis provided direct support to adults with autism and connected individuals with intellectual and physical differences and their families to resources in the community. He then went on to work in academic support at a university, providing holistic support to students as they worked towards achieving their academic goals. Lewis specializes in issues of trauma, religion/spirituality, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and matters affecting men. He is passionate about working with individuals among the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and gender expansive) community and the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, self-identifying Black cisgender male, and spiritual being, Lewis actively engages in ongoing education to ensure he is providing his clients with support that is representative of their unique and beautiful stories. If an individual wants to delve into the religious or spiritual parts of their story, he creates a safe and brave space for one to explore. "I recognize that your journey is unique. Exploring past, present, and future chapters of your story can be intimidating and overwhelming, but I believe we can work together to maintain the wellness of your mind, body, and soul during it. I see myself as a companion on your journey; I am there to walk by your side as you discover and learn new and exciting aspects of your story. I look forward to traveling with you." Lewis' typical fee is $150 for individual therapy (53 min); he can work on a sliding scale if needed. Although he only works on a self-pay basis, he is able to provide documentation for clients to submit for out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider.

Lincoln Blackwell

Lincoln Blackwell, MA, NCC, CCTP (he/him/his) has had varied experiences in working with people of all ages and walks of life with substance use disorders, as well as co-current trauma, PTSD, and other experiences of difficulty, including grief and loss. Lincoln places an emphasis on this topic, as he has personally navigated many instances of grief and loss and seeks to be an aid to others who experience this in their lives. In his experience, he has utilized his skills in deep listening, compassion, acceptance, and empathy in building a strong relationship with others, built on trust and a strong collaborative connection. Lincoln strives to create a space of authenticity and safety for clients to ensure they can disclose thoughts and feelings in a current context, to help address thoughts, experiences, and feelings in a supportive, accepting environment. He seeks to employ integrative and creative solutions within collaboration to find and further develop a sense of meaning/purpose, self-awareness, and discovery, while cultivating confidence, enhanced interpersonal relationships, hope, and happiness. Lincoln is always in search of new and fun experiences, which include traveling, cooking, reading, music, and creative writing. It can be difficult to work through many topics we experience in our lives and collaborating with a counselor can initially be something we are nervous and fearful about. I empathize with these common emotions, and I pledge to make our discussion environment warm, comfortable, and genuine. Trust and deep listening are vital to our counseling relationship, and I will make these the top initial priorities in our discussions. Tahirah Stevens-Gaillard

Now, after being in the program for two years+, Tahirah continues to be drawn to supporting those who live their lives with the baggage of trauma. In her work at the Phoenix Center, Tahirah plans to continue to learn and develop her skills and strengthen in trauma therapy, EMDR, spiritual counseling, psychodrama, and narrative therapy.
