Pointer's Ace Hardware was founded in Concord, NC in 1987. Beginning as Faggart's Lumber Company, Harlan Meendering and Neil Moelker purchased and renamed it Hickory Grove True Value Hardware. It was a second location to their Charlotte store that was opened years prior. Needing management help early on, the pair looked to brother Marvin and his wife Sharon to partner with them running the day-to-day operations. They constantly reinvested profit in the business to add more inventory and within 10 years they'd outgrown their building...
