Annette S. Hennis

Annette S. Hennis is a 1974 graduate of Nordonia High School. She attended Baldwin-Wallace College where she earned her B.S. in Biology, minored in chemistry and psychology and met Mark S. Hennis. She wed Mark in 1981 as well as completing her M.S. in Molecular Genetics. She has been the Office Manager since 1982.

Aubrey Belkey

Aubrey started working at Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital in 2017. She attended the 2-year program at Stautzenberger College graduating with a degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In 2017 she proudly passed her VTNE becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. While pursuing her degree she got to work at an alpaca farm and another animal hospital. At home Aubrey has two amazing dogs Desoto and Maple that accompany her everywhere. During the warmer months she packs up the pets and heads to the local camp grounds. She is always setting up pot lucks and reminding us of food-centric holidays around the hospital. To catch a glimpse of Aubrey out in the community just go to any pickle related festivals as they're her favorite. In her free time she can be found cuddling her pups or participating in family game night. Aubrey Belkey graduated from Norton High School in 2010 and obtained her Veterinary Technician Applied Science Degree from Stautzenberger College in 2017. She enjoys watching Netflix and hanging around with her dogs, Maple and DeSoto. She also enjoys frequenting the gymnasium and staying fit.

Brittany Berger

Brittany joined the Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital in 2013. She was our receptionist when she first started, answering your calls and emails. She loved working with animals so much she went on to becoming a Groomer in 2015. Brittany groomed part time while working here until 2019 when she hung up her grooming apron for good to pursue veterinary medicine. Brittany attended Stautzenberger College and graduated with a degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She passed her VTNE and became a Registered Veterinary Technician later that year. Brittany spends her free time with her husband hiking with their dogs, cooking vegan dishes, and caring for their plethora of houseplants. They have two dogs Lucy and Hammy, a spunky cat Melvin, and two lizards Tulip and Mushu.

Dr. Eve E. Schaming

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Eve E. Schaming graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with a B.S. in Animal Science. She then attended veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful island of St. Kitts, graduating with her D.V.M. in 2011. Dr. Schaming has worked in mixed animal, small animal, and educational settings since graduating. Her hobbies include hiking the trails in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park with her Cattle Dog mix named 'Olive', as well as reading, binge watching Netflix, and crocheting.

Dr. Mark S. Hennis - President

Mark S. Hennis, D.V.M. is the President of the Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital, Inc. (SHAH) and a staff veterinarian. He attended the Berea City School District through his junior year in high school then graduated from the East Holmes School District in rural Holmes County, Ohio in 1974. He attended Baldwin-Wallace College earning a B.S. in Biology with minors in chemistry and history. He graduated magna cum laude in 1978 with two distinguished awards, the Freshman Chemistry Prize and the Ruesegger Biology Award. He attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine for four years, graduating cum laude in 1981. Dr. and Mrs. Hennis met at Baldwin-Wallace College and dated for many years before marrying in 1981. They moved to New Hampshire in 1981 for one year where Dr. Hennis was employed by the Exeter Veterinary Hospital, Inc. Upon their return to Ohio, they started a small animal practice in their home. This practice matured into SHAH in 1989. They have one son, Richard Scott Hennis, born in 1984 who has been involved with the practice since learning to walk. They have the privilege of being the keepers one mischievous cat named Tyler. Annette and Mark Hennis enjoy photography and traveling. They have visited and explored all 50 states and 2/3rd of the Canadian provinces. Dr. Hennis is a member of the Cornell Feline Health Center (FHC), the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Phi Zeta, a veterinary honor society. Dr. Hennis is accredited by the U.S.D.A. to issue interstate and international health certificates for the transportation of pets.

Gina Varner

Gina Varner, Receptionist at the Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital, Inc., joined our team in 2020. She is attending Cuyahoga Community College to earn her associate's degree in Veterinary Technology.

Kay Himmelman

Kay joined the Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital in 2020 as ananimal aide and receptionist. Previously she managed a dog daycare and overnightfacility and also worked for a dog walking-sitting company. When not at workKay can be found at home with her husband and children. The family is completedby two dogs Marceline and Queso, and two cats Thackery Binx and Scooter. Kayalso has a passion for crochet and bright colored Crocs.

Kimberly A. Justice

Kimberly Justice is licensed with the State of Ohio as Registered Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Columbus State Community College in 1999. Kim has also completed internships with The Ohio Wildlife Center and The Ohio State University, where she also completed advanced coursework in Equine Science and Zoology. She has been working with animals large and small, wild and domestic for most of her life and has been working in the veterinary field since the 1980s. Kim has had a love for animals her entire life and currently spends her 'free time' caring for the small farm where she resides with her husband. They have a collie, Parker, from Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio, that cannot decide which is better, being a farm dog or a couch dog. Herding the goats and horses may be fun, but the couch is cozy! Kim and her husband also enjoy exploring our beautiful parks, near and far, on foot or on horseback. Kim's duties reflect her skills and include venipuncture, monitoring and administering anesthesia, assisting in surgery, taking radiographs, working in the laboratory and pharmacy, and providing nutritional counseling and other client education for help with their pets.

Kristen Campo

Kristen joined Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital in 2018. If you have called, emailed, or come here since then you've probably met or talked to her at the front desk. She started working in the field in 2013 and switched clinics to be closer to home. At home Kristen spends time with her husband and young daughter. She is a huge football fan and loves cheering on the Browns at every home game when possible. They have three beloved cats Haden, Nala, and Lily.

Richard S. Hennis

Richard S. Hennis, R.V.T., graduated from Nordonia High School in 2002. He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology for two years and then the University of Akron. He graduated with a Veterinary Technician Applied Science Degree from Stautzenberger College in 2017. He is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the computer network at the Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital (SHAH). He is married to Lindsey Glorioso Hennis and they have a very sweet daughter who was born in 2020. Richard has two Bernese Mountain Dogs named Hildy and Zurich, and two very cool cats named Coltrane and Brubeck. He enjoys computer gaming, traveling, sports both as a participant and as a spectator, and bicycling.

Shayne Jablonski

Shayne is a 2014 graduate of Stautzenberger College with an Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She came to us in August of 2013 to fulfill occupational hours and has happily been here ever since! In March of 2015, she passed the board exam and is now a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Shayne has two human children, a daughter and son, who have both flown the coop. She is currently dealing with the 'empty nest' syndrome by remodeling! Her non-human children include her lab mix 'Zoe' and cat 'Spanky'. Shayne has a love of exotics as well and enjoys playing with her three snakes and five lizards.
