TT Hungary

Job Titles:
  • Director
He was one of the best junior players in Hungary from U12 to U18. He won 4 Hungarian National Championship titles throughout the junior ages and earned a top40 ranking in the Men's division at the age of 17. He received a scholarship offer from the University of Iowa but decided to attend the Corvinus University of Budapest instead, where he graduated in 2009 with a Master's degree in corporate finance. After 4 years of experience in the corporate world, where he worked as an audit associate for PriceWaterhouseCoopers as well as for some smaller consultant companies Szilard decided to dedicate his time to tennis coaching. He earned a PTR professional degree at the Headquarters of the association, at Hilton Head Island, where he worked for the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy. In 2013 Szilárd founded his own training center, M.E.S.E. Tennis, in Budapest, Hungary. Within 3 years the club was ranked as high as no.13 in the country based on results achieved by the competitive junior players. The main focus of the center is to develop young high-performance players. The collaboration with Luca Appino and the implementation of the Tennis Talents Formula and the relevant Method started in 2016, and it has been growing ever since. With the help of the TT concept, the club has been able to produce many promising young juniors, national champions, and provided players for the national team. In addition to college tennis players, the overall activity has proven to be successful, also considering in the past 3 years 9 players have received athletic (tennis) scholarships in USA universities. Szilárd in particular worked with Amarissa Tóth, who climbed as high as no.120 on the ITF juniors ranking just within 8 months, producing a 29-7 win-loss record on the way. As of today, Amarissa is ranked no.35 in the ITF girls ranking. Szilárd is currently working with Vanda Lukács, no.542 on the WTA and no.27 on the ITF World W singles ranking.
