Dr. John A. Abraham

Dr. John A. Abraham is a nationally recognized orthopaedic oncology surgeon and has 15 years of experience in dealing with bone and soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic cancer to the skeleton. Dr. Abraham graduated Magna cum Laude from Harvard University, and then went on to graduate with High Honors from Yale University medical school, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the Nichols Giarman Prize for Cancer Research. He then returned to Harvard to complete an Orthopaedic Surgery residency, where he was selected as the Administrative Chief Resident for two consecutive terms. He went on to pursue his orthopaedic oncology fellowship at Harvard. Dr. Abraham served as the primary orthopedic oncologist for the Dana Farber Cancer Center, one of the leading sarcoma centers in the world, gaining tremendous experience dealing with very difficult and advanced sarcoma and orthopaedic oncology problems. During this time, he was also a member of the Arthroplasty service at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and developed significant expertise in joint replacement procedures and advanced revision procedures for failed hip and knee replacements. Dr. Abraham developed particular expertise in dealing with extensive bone loss of the pelvis, and has become one of the nation's leading surgeons utilizing custom made patient matched implants for acetabular reconstruction in patients with massive bone loss from failed prior hip surgery. Dr. Abraham was recruited to the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute to develop a world class sarcoma and orthopaedic oncology center. He developed this program from the ground up and then served as the Director of the Jefferson Musculoskeletal Oncology Center at the Kimmel Cancer Center, and Chief of the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Orthopedic Oncology Service for nearly 10 years, during which time he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University. He is currently the Director of Orthopaedic Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, one of the few NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer centers in the region. Dr. Abraham has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters, and has been invited to lecture both nationally and internationally on orthopedic oncology topics. He has been named a Top Doctor by Philadelphia Magazine every year for the past 10 years, and is named in America's Best Doctors list. Dr. Mathew J. Abraham

Dr. Mathew J. Abraham is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Specialist and Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is the Founder and Director of Oasis Interventional Spine Care in Blue Bell, PA where he specializes in non-surgical interventional treatments for a variety of spinal conditions including degenerated discs, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica and radiculopathy. He also treats arthritis and degeneration of the spinal facet joints, sacroiliac joint, hip, knee and shoulder joints. Dr. Abraham earned his bachelor of arts degree cum laude from Cornell University. After graduating with distinction in biomedical science research from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Michigan in 2006, he completed his residency in the highly regarded department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester Medical Center/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY where he had the honor of being appointed as Chief Resident during his final year. During his residency he conducted leading clinical research in his field for which he attained national recognition and was awarded the prestigious Foundation for PM&R Musculoskeletal Research and Education Award in addition to research grants from the Foundation for PM&R and the Merck, Sharp and Dohme Corporation. He was also the recipient of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry 3rd Annual Osteoporosis Academy Scholarship award in 2011. Dr. Abraham went on to complete a Fellowship in Interventional Spine Care at the internationally renowned Penn Spine Center of the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. After spending a brief time out of the state of Pennsylvania Dr. Abraham returned to the Philadelphia area in 2014 with an aim to bring the expert training he received at the University of Pennsylvania to the Philadelphia suburbs. Dr. Abraham has published numerous articles in leading journals and has spoken at conferences around the country. He remains actively involved in research and was recently published in the prestigious Spine Journal.
