Caroline Rowland

Caroline is a business psychologist who specialises in executive development and assessment. She prides herself in providing the evidence to support clients to make data-led decisions for management due diligence, individual and team assessment development and succession planning. She has been working with Pantheon Leadership globally since 2018, supporting organisations across a wide range of sectors to put the right people in the right roles and drive growth through leadership. A Chartered psychologist, she holds degrees from the University of Edinburgh and London Guildhall University. An avid traveller, outside of work she is most likely to be spotted in a faraway land with a backpack on her back and her two sons in tow.

Carrie Coombs

Carrie Coombs is known in the UK and abroad for her ability to help executives and boards increase their leadership confidence and resilience in the context of personal, organizational, and market transition. She specializes in coaching and board evaluation to achieve practical results with a strategic focus. Her senior coaching, ExCo team, and board work is a mixture of empathetic insight, a keen interest in clients' success, and practical knowledge gained from working across a wide range of sectors and organizations. Experience Carrie brings to her coaching and board assessment and advisory work experience from a career that has spanned banking, investment banking, bank stock research, and management consulting. She has been retained by large organizations as an advisor, coach, and facilitator. Carrie has partnered with clients leading both start-ups and large businesses within global firms. She helps clients embrace the two joint challenges of creating the strategy and building the infrastructure to grow their businesses. Carrie also works with small organizations and not-for-profits, both as a non-executive director and on a pro-bono basis. Carrie understands the growing area of neuropsychology and how it impacts leaders and boards, and uses her knowledge extensively in her coaching assignments, helping clients understand their executive profile and reputation, and how their gravitas and impact can be undermined by unconscious triggers. She uses psychometrics, 360s and other methodologies to fully understand a client's profile, motivations, and values. Born and educated in America, Carrie started her career in global banking. Her experience on Wall Street and in the City with Chemical Bank, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley was followed by a move into strategic consulting. She worked closely with senior and executive clients at The Mac Group, a boutique strategy consulting firm with links to top business schools which became the strategy practice of Gemini Consulting. There she founded and led various centers of excellence in financial services strategy.

Dr John Mervyn-Smith

Dr John is a co-creator and director of The GC Index. He trained and worked as a clinical psychologist in the NHS before working as an organisational psychologist, setting up businesses that have included: The Oxford Consulting Group, Misura Consulting and The GC Index. He now spends his time as a keynote speaker, author and broadcaster, executive coach and builder of The GC Index. Publications include the book: "Coaching Me Coaching You". He looks back, with some fondness, to the days of profiling participants for Reality TV shows like Big Brother and interviewing Penny Mordaunt for a job! His is proud of the ways in which The GC Index is helping to change people's lives.

Kim Birnie

Kim is supporting the development of Pantheon Leadership with a particular focus on coaching and advisory services to CEOs and NEDs. Her career began in consulting, before moving into Organisational Development in Investment Banking, FMCG and Retail. In 2004 she established her own consulting practice with clients ranging from FTSE 100 to Private Equity and start-up enterprises. Her commercial awareness combined with a systemic focus and psychological expertise, supports individuals and teams to explore relational dynamics and navigate change. Kim holds degrees from Birmingham University and Middlesex University and is a certified practitioner in Family and Organisational Constellations, Appreciative Inquiry, Time to Think Coaching and many well-recognised psychometric instruments (including Hogan and Firo B). She is a Trustee and board member of a charity within the Education sector, which involves pro bono work supporting future female talent, a particular passion and is based in the Chilterns with her husband and two teenagers (when she isn't travelling to places on her bucket list, or surfing in Cornwall)!

Over the course of his career, he has been an individual contributor, supervisor, manager and leader, a coach, advisor, counselor and consultant, and an entrepreneur and an intrapreneur. He has earned degrees in psychology, human resources management, and organizational development, a diploma from Stanford University's Advanced Management College and advanced certifications in organizational change and development from Harvard and Columbia Universities.

Richard is supporting the development of Pantheon Leadership, Per Ardua Associates' Leadership Advisory business, with a focus on building trust, vision and high-quality thinking for CEOs, boards and top teams. A global C-suite coach for over a decade, Richard combines flexible leadership approaches and award-winning creativity with strong, practical outcomes. He runs senior leadership development for companies including Barclays, Standard Chartered, WPP and Siemens across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific and has authored a bespoke instrument, the ‘Team Health Check' to step up eight critical aspects of team high-performance. Originally a BAFTA-winning film director, Richard also works with senior leaders on their presence and strategic aims: he coached the board partner of a major Olympics sponsor to increase confidence and the company's impact, an Army General to find clear purpose and hold the line for courageous decisions. As a consultant to Government, Richard advised the Cabinet Minister for Innovation on raising the public profile of science, he was a co-director of Central London Samaritans and first Chair of Trustees for the charity ‘The Listening Place'. He has an MA in Classics from Oxford University, Postgraduate Diplomas in Advanced Executive Coaching and Gestalt Coaching, a Master Programme in Systemic Work and is a qualified coach supervisor fluent in MBTI, Hogan and 360 approaches.
