Rowan Hanson is an illustrative tattooist living and creating in the Sonoran Desert. Her inspiration derives from the natural world using abstract, surreal, and magical elements. Working mostly with black ink, she focuses on small details creating illustrative pieces comprised of dot work and fine lines. She puts emphasis on creating a unique design that flows and fits with the individuals unique body, as if the tattoo was there all along waiting to emerge from the skin. Through the use of dreamscapes and intuitive design, Rowan's work achieves an alchemical balance of the beauty that lies between life and decay.
