NOT FOR PROFIT LAW - Key Persons

Laura van Ree

Before founding Not for Profit Law, Laura worked at two of the largest firms in the region. She was a Partner and Head of the Wills, Trusts and Probate department at Fosters LLP and (after a short career break following the birth of her daughter) a Senior Associate at Birketts LLP. Laura advises on all aspects of Private Client work, although she has a particular interest in helping clients whose loved ones have additional needs, vulnerabilities or disabilities which require special consideration. Laura started her career in the local charitable sector and since qualifying as a solicitor has often reflected upon the current legal model, with a desire to cultivate a more philanthropic approach. For Laura, Not for Profit Law represents just that. Laura is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) which is the global professional association for practitioners specialising in her area of law. Laura was granted a STEP Excellence Award for obtaining the highest overall mark in the country when she completed the STEP Diploma in Trust and Estate Administration. This is a hallmark qualification for Private Client professionals. Outside her work with Not for Profit Law, Laura likes to cycle and plays basketball for Norfolk Iceni Basketball Club. She also has a side-line in sustainable wooden Christmas trees, which she makes herself from locally sourced hazel coppice!

Trina Worden

Following a career at two regional firms, Fosters LLP (where she first met and worked with Laura) and Langleys LLP, Trina is delighted to begin a new chapter as co-founder of Not For Profit Law. Originally from Lancashire, Trina completed her degree in Law at Lancaster University. In 1999 she moved to live and work in Norwich, where she qualified as a solicitor in 2002. After obtaining a master's degree in International Relations at the University of East Anglia, Trina focused on her specialist training becoming a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in 2012. Throughout her long legal career two motivations have enabled Trina to enjoy her work: continual academic development and the pleasure of using the knowledge she has gained to help her clients. Away from the office, Trina enjoys cycling the lanes of Norfolk, hiking in her old stomping ground of the Lake District and working as the under-gardener in her husband's garden! She has a passion for the environment and, when the Covid restrictions allow, is looking forward to returning to her village market stall promoting all things plastic free.
