Ana Popovic

Job Titles:

Ana studied at the London College of Communication and has a degree in Interior Design and is Associate Member of BIID. Ana joined Garnett Architecture having previously worked at Urbanist Architecture, Helen Green Design and Net-A-Porter Group. Ana works in both the commercial and residential sectors as interior designer and also has extensive architectural design and town planning experience. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, throwing pottery and learning how to play piano.

Andrei Bigan

Architectural Assistant Andrei Bigan completed his Part I at the University of Westminster in London and joined Garnett Architecture soon after graduation. His Third-Year project envisioned a post-pandemic interdisciplinary school of design that tackles the effects of climate change by means of a novel biotechnological platform. In his free time Andrei enjoys drawing, cooking and photography.

Antonio Bilancio

Antonio graduated from The University of Naples Federico II in Italy and trained in Naples before moving to London in 2003 to work on luxury residential projects for private clients and leading ‘Great Estates'. He joined Garnett Architecture in 2014 to act as team leader on high end residential schemes primarily in London and the home counties, more recently he has acted as lead designer on commercial refurbishment projects for a number of our investment fund clients. Antonio was appointed partner of the practice in 2016 having proven himself to be an exciting and sought after designer with a superb eye for detail.

Manuela joined Garnett Architecture after previously working at Concept Eight Architects, Boutique Design and Bickerdike Allen. Having trained in Architecture & Design in Milan, she moved to London to complete her studies at Central Saint Martins and University of Westminster. Manuela worked primarily in the high-end residential sector as both architectural and interior designer. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, photography and fitness activities.

Christian Garnett

Born in St Asaph, Flintshire, graduated with distinction from University of Cambridge and trained at Sheppard Robson Architects before completing his professional accreditation at Sir Terry Farrell & Company. Following internships at architectural firms in Sydney and New York, he joined the late great Franklin D. Israel's office in Los Angeles working in association with Frank O. Gehry as Project Architect on a 10,000sqft new-build private residence at Broad Beach, Malibu. Since returning to London to launch Garnett Architecture in the early 1990s, Christian has completed many successful and award winning projects for property investors, leading developers and Great Estates. Clients' aspirations and achievements are Christian's lifeblood, and he enjoys long-standing client collaborations which have lasted more than 20 years.

Conor Hession

Project Architect Conor joined Garnett Architecture after working for Thomas Croft Architects as Architect on a high quality residential project in North London, and for A&Q Partnership where he predominantly worked the delivery of a high-end residential development in the City of London and a large-scale housing scheme in rural Hampshire. Conor studied at Nottingham Trent University and Oxford Brookes University and enjoys working in detail and re-purposing neglected sites and buildings for contemporary living and working. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, reading and going to the cinema.

Ferenc Erdei

BIM Manager Ferenc trained at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, receiving his Master of Architecture in 2008. Since his move to London in 2013 Ferenc has worked as Architectural Technologist and BIM Manager at Robson Warren Architects, Work LTD and Variant Office. Since joining GarnettArchitecture Ferenc has been responsible for developing BIM software within the practice and assisting with goals to reduce the carbon footprint and keep the timeline of construction projects. In his spare time, he enjoys hill walking and cooking for family and friends .

Ignacio Monterrubio

Senior Architectural Designer Ignacio obtained his MArch degree from Universidad Nacional de Tucuman, Argentina. During his early years as a professional he set up a small practice and worked in several residential and commercial projects acquiring vast on-site experience. Passionate about traveling he moved to Europe - Switzerland - where he had the chance to work on residential buildings and learn about different construction techniques. From 2018 to 2021 he worked for Re-Creo Architecture based in central London, designing medium to large- scale mix-use schemes until he joined GarnettArchitecture in 2022 where he is looking forward to continue his professional development. As a former rugby player, Ignacio loves outdoor activities, exploring new world cuisines.

James Norwood-Young

James studied at University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, graduating with honours and gaining his Masters in Architecture in 2015. Before joining Garnett Architecture James worked at award winning architects Two Five Five in Cape Town, where he had the opportunity to work on two Building of the Year nominated schemes, and then with Savile Row Tailored Environments in Jo'Burg where he acted as project architect on a 100,000sqft fast track commercial development. James is a talented all-rounder with keen interest in design-through-making and problem solving. On the weekends he can be found trekking through Putney Heath, looking for the closest espresso, with lab and spaniel in tow.

Matthew Bate

Job Titles:

Matthew trained at the Leicester School of Architecture and joined Garnett Architecture in 2014. Matt has worked on a number of high quality residential and commercial projects in Central London, for clients including Aberdeen Standard Life, L&G and Capco, Covent Garden. Matt's experience includes an 18 month spell broadening his construction knowledge at contractor GPF Lewis PLC where he gained valuable experience as a Design Manager delivering several projects including a £9M mixed use redevelopment in Fulham and a £7.75M residential new build project in Bishop's Avenue. Since returning to Garnett Architecture in 2019 Matt has proved himself a dynamic all round architect and designer and was promoted as Associate in 2021.

Sam Plank

Sam joined Garnett Architecture after previously having worked at Shape Architecture and Cube LLP. He has studied at University of Brighton and University of Kent where his where he received a Distinction for his 5 th Year Project for a school facility for training the next generation of Saville Row tailors involving production of a new Kentish Tweed. With Garnett Architecture Sam has worked on projects of varying scales for both private clients and property development companies. Outside of work Sam enjoys creating video content, cycling and exploring new places.

Sarah Wade

Interior Design Consultant Sarah studied at University of East Anglia where she completed a degree in History of Art before joining the head office of Waterstone & Co as Art Editor becoming director of the Card Publishing Division before sale of the company to WH Smith. Sarah subsequently joined The Miller Press in New York as Executive Assistant before moving to Los Angeles in 1988 to work for Franklin D. Israel as Interior design Assistant on a wide range of bespoke private house commissions in Beverley Hills and West Hollywood. Sarah has acted as Interior Design Consultant for Garnett Architecture since 2010 providing a personalised service to clients advising on the selection and sourcing of bespoke finishes, furniture and soft furnishings for small commercial refurbishments and housing projects with a particular focus on the West End, Kensngton & Chelsea and the home counties.

Yvonne trained at Edinburgh College of Art and joined Garnett Architecture in 2011 following previous experience at Edinburgh based firm Oliver Chapman Architects. Yvonne has worked on a wide range of high quality residential and retail projects with Garnett Architecture's ‘Great Estates' team including notably as Architect on a £10.5M phased refurbishment project in Manchester Street for The Portman Estate. Yvonne has recently expanded her experience in the commercial sector as architect on office projects for Aberdeen Asset Management in the City, and Capco Covent Garden.
