Annie Vernon is a two-time World Champion and Olympic silver medalist rower. Born and bred in Wadebridge, she attended Downing College, Cambridge University where she won a Blue in the Boat Race before going on to an eight-year career on the GB Rowing Team. She went to the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics and retired after London 2012. She is now a speaker, sports journalist and author. Her first book, Mind Games, looking at the psychology of elite sport, will be published by Bloomsbury in March 2019.
