I was brought up with the saying that ‘travel broadens the mind' and I couldn't agree more. Working in travel, particularly cruise, has certainly opened my eyes and mind to a vast array of exciting destinations, and unrivalled and exceptional service onboard cruise line ships. Who doesn't want to wake up somewhere different every day? A personal favourite cruise of mine was around the Mediterranean encompassing stops in Rome - I saw the Vatican, St. Paul's Basilica and the Colosseum, Venice - a gondola ride of course, and my particular favourite, Montenegro which is small hillside fortified village, which was just enchanting to walk around. Having worked in the travel industry for 19 years, both abroad and UK based, and studying my degree in Tourism Management, I have been privy to seeing just how different countries and cultures enhance a holiday experience.
