As a dendrochronologist (from Greek dendron = "tree", khronos = "time", and -logia = "the study of") I am studying tree growth and the influencing environmental factors in space and time in order to better understand the history of forest/tree growth, climate and society and their interactions. In addition, the gained knowledge should be used to model future environmental conditions... Dendrochronology: development of tree-ring chronologies spanning the Holocene, compilation of local tree-ring chronologies for tree-ring network studies
