Jim Keller began his career in the early eighties as part of the San Francisco power pop act Tommy Tutone. Keller penned and performed two top forty singles with the group. Most notable of them was the infectious "867-5309/Jenny," which sold over a million copies. Jim Keller has gone on to become the president of Dunvagen Music Publishing. Dunvagen was established in 1977 solely for the purpose of handling the publishing interests of world-renowned composer Philip Glass. Through the success of the partnership it was a natural progression that Keller and Glass would move on to found St.Rose Music Publishing in 1999. St. Rose handles the interests of a wide range of multi-faceted artists. Keller has shaped a roster of thoughtful, inspired and highly creative talent and composers of everything from symphony, folk, opera, musical theater, film, television and even gaming music. Keller also continues to publish, write and record and perform his own works in New York City. With an ethos inspired by co-founder Philip Glass' unconventional career built largely independent of traditional music institutions, St. Rose Music exercises a singular approach to discover multidisciplinary opportunities for artistic exploration.

Through his operas, his symphonies, his compositions for his own ensemble, and his wide-ranging collaborations with artists ranging from Twyla Tharp to Allen Ginsberg, Woody Allen to David Bowie, Philip Glass has had an extraordinary and unprecedented impact upon the musical and intellectual life of his times. Glass is an American composer who founded St. Rose Music in 1999 with Jim Keller. Glass started the Philip Glass Ensemble in 1970 to perform his own compositions and, shortly thereafter, created Dunvagen Music Publishers to represent his own publishing interests. He has since started several adjacent enterprises, including St. Rose Music, for the express purpose of developing various aspects of his musical career and the careers of his close acquaintances. In 1992, Glass opened Looking Glass Studios, which not only operated as the recording nucleus for his own music, but also served several other artists, including David Bowie, Lou Reed, The Cure, Sheryl Crow, and Roger Waters. Additionally, Glass established his own record label in 2001 with Don Christensen, Orange Mountain Music, which features a catalog of over 150 releases to date. Glass also started the Days and Nights Festival in Carmel, California as an outpost for experimental art and a participative project to explore and nurture the connection between art and the natural world. His self-determination and tenacious work ethic function as a template for St. Rose Music's strategic design and collaborative emphasis.

Zoë Knight

Job Titles:
  • Executive Director Learn More
Growing up in a family of artists and musicians, Zoë Knight has always felt a connection to creative people. As the daughter of a professional musician, she was the youngest person at the club, festival, or jam session. These experiences fueled an understanding about the working artist who needs both a bird's eye career view and a clear plan for daily support to nurture their craft. Zoë Knight began her career in the music business as an audio engineer in Seattle, and following a move back to her hometown of New York, began working in music publishing at Philip Glass' Dunvagen Music. When Jim Keller (Glass manager/Dunvagen Director) and Glass chose to overhaul sister publishing company, St. Rose Music, Knight saw an opportunity to develop the company further into management, offering composers more support through strategic career planning and project development. She is dedicated to composers who find inspiration in all musical spaces, who choose to move through the world untethered by labels and conventional boundaries. She lives with her husband, two children and dog in Hastings-On-Hudson, NY.
