Scagliola [skal-you-luh] is the artistic technique used to produce a marble-like finish using gypsum plaster, animal glue and combinations of pigments. The surface goes through what becomes an addictive polishing process to create highly artistic hand crafted pieces. Adapting techniques with ancient origins this ‘metallic Scagliola' has been developed exclusively for 21st Century taste in three dimensional pieces... The Middle English word Dais originally described a raised table for distinguished guests to eat and drink from. In Old French Dais meant disc or dish... Every piece I create using time-served skills and techniques, is unique and timeless. Combining natural materials with innovative hand processes, I produce pieces of the highest quality, created to stand the test of time.
